So many memories.

- My first game in the late 80s when the Paxton was still terraces and being mesmerised at how posh the West Stand looked with its fancy seats in comparison
- Walking up the steps into the stadium and getting a shiver (every time)
- Bumping into Gazza (twice in a month, he remembered me the second time)
- Standing outside the West Stand with my dad watching the players drive in
- Being sat in traffic on the High Road on the drive home, in the dark, with Capital Gold (or Radio Five) on.

Match specific:

- Spurs 4 - 4 Villa. What a shambles of a game
- Danny Rose thunderbolt Vs Arsenal
- UEFA Cup vs Sevilla. We were 2-0 down at half time, the second half I think is still the best atmosphere i've experienced at WHL with the drummer in the Shelf not stopping the entire half and the crowd chanting "Martin Jol's Blue & White Army" non stop.
- FA Cup tie Vs Bolton when Fabrice Muamba collapsed. Shocking scenes.
- My last game before I left the UK for Singapore
- My first game at the new stadium in 2020 before the world went to shit

For me what stands out most is a warm June afternoon in 2006 when I went to pick up season tickets for me and my three kids, then aged 10, 11 and 5. With said kids in tow we were taken into an empty stadium, walked around the edge of the pitch to the Paxton Road end to be shown where our seats were, row 9 just to the left of the goal looking onto the pitch. Still brings goose bumps to this day, even though I had been attending games regularly since 81.

In terms of games, UEFA cup final 2nd leg, Hoddle's last game, Ardiles testimonial, too many midweek cup games to mention and watching a youth cup semi-final against Millwall with my a mate who is sadly no longer with us and lived for Spurs.

I have yet to 'taste' the new stadium but from watching games on the box I am sure the younger generation will generate their own memories.

April 1975 - v Chelsea epic relegation battle against our dear amigos from Fulham Broadway ... Sitting on a slender 1 - 0 lead thanks to a rare Stevie Perryman strike .. nails bitten to the quick .. a young Butch Wilkens inspiring a spirited Chelsea fight back - Jennings with a couple of miraculous reflex saves.. it looked like only a matter of time before there inevitable equaliser.. then cometh the moment cometh the man.. up steps the iconic Alfie Conn with a magnificent daisy cutter - 2 - 0 the mayhem that ensued was off the scale.. happy days.

1984 UEFA Cup Final 2nd leg at WHL

The Shelf was moving under our feet when Robbo equalised, absolute mayhem

Ended up a fair old distance from where we were stood when he scored

The stadium was bursting at the seams, there were thousands more in the ground than the official attendance

Never experienced an atmosphere like it before or after and I've been to hundreds of games home and away over the years

A specific 14 minutes will live with me always - and that started the second Harry Kane bent in that glorious goal against Arsenal in March 2016, leaving Ospina sprawled on the floor and making it 2-1 to us.

I love the no-commentary clip of that goal. It brings me right back to my seat. I genuinely thought we'd cracked it and were going to win the league. And I think the rest of the ground did too.

Albeit it ended in a draw, those minutes were incredible.

(Notable mentions to Inter (home and away) and Milan away in our first CL season - and the Spurs 5-1 demolition of Arsenal in the Carling Cup)

I'll always remember my first game it was 1948 I was 9 years old (yes I am that old probably the oldest on here at 82) It was against Newcastle and we were in the old 2nd division now the Championship and we drew 1-1. I remember it as the place was packed and I couldn't see so my Dad lifted me up and the crowd carried me over their heads right down to the front. I was in love with them from that moment and have been ever since. Bill Nicholson was playing and I remember being behind the goal and watching in awe some of the incredible saves our goalkeeper Ted Ditchburn made. Looking back it wasn't a particularly great game we drew 1-1 I believe but thought they were the greatest team in the World. I think the following year Alf Ramsey joined from Southampton so I did get to see two excellent players who turned out to be two of the greatest managers in Sir Alf and Billy Nick. There were other great moments over the years to many to go into here but my first was the beginning of a love affair that has lasted almost 75 years.

Its got to be when we won the league cup against chelscum. The Danny Rose goal v arsenal was a special moment - just how it went in was exquisite.

When I was a younger guy - I once tried to chat up a girl by saying that robbie keane wasnt the only one who was going to hit the back of the net tonight. She walked away. Thank God they demolished the stadium so the memories are lost in that rubble.

WHL - late 80’s/early 90’s arriving early with my Dad to get the players autographs and meeting Warren Mitchell (Alf Garnett). Gazza sticking his tongue out to my little sister as he came to get the ball for a throw in.
00,s - Fianlly getting back into Europe. The chant of “Martin Jol’s blue and White army” in the 2nd half against Sevilla, seemed to last most of the half.

Wembley - watching us tear apart Real Madrid. A result far beyond my expectations. Gave me real belief we had turned a corner and could go on to win something.

New WHL - Man C, CL QF. My first trip to the new ground and what a result. A penalty save and Son not giving up to keep the ball in play and then giving us the lead. Hanging around the ground after the final whistle, it was a real party atmosphere.
Watching the CL final with 60k Spurs fans, the atmosphere beforehand was incredible, pure carnival. Shame it was ruined a min in to the game

There are loads. One that sticks out is a home game against Bolton in the 10/11 season. It was 1-1 after about 90 minutes, but they were showing the scores of the other games on the big screen as they usually do.

Every couple of minutes the scores came up to show Arsenal were losing their 0-4 away lead at Newcastle. The score went up to show 4-4 and the whole ground erupted in cheer and disbelief, and then about 30 seconds later Niko Kranjcar goes up the other end to hit a left-footed screamer to win the game right at the death.

It was an incredible sequence of events.

At the old WHL - I think maybe the 2-2 vs the scum. When that Kane goal went in I have never experienced a stadium like that. At the time I thought we were going to win the league for 15mins. Bloody Lloris and his near post

Wembley - Has the be the dismantling of Real Madid, amazing performance and atmosphere

New WHL - As @ernie78 said the Man C CL QF. Great result and great atmosphere

Away - Think it is and always will be Ajax. The whole lead up to the match was unreal. I wasn't meant to even be going. On the Tuesday I had a call saying one of my sister's clients couldn't go and did I want the ticket at face value in the Spurs end. Ended up tagging along with my friend's family and took the dad to the game as I had a spare ticket. At 94mins he said 'Should we leave to avoid being locked in.' Very glad I said there was still 1min left and anything could happen.

The whole of the last season at WHL pretty much.

Kane bending it in off the post from what felt like over by the corner flag - my seat was behind the goal and I watched it come all the way in.

Ledley King's testimonial was a fun night in a very different way.

Fuck it I'm getting excited about Spurs again (this may be due to not having to watch us play at the moment!!!!!) :cautious:

Some of these are amazing.

Would anyone be interested in telling their story on my new podcast?

First impressions always stay with you and my first game was against Norwich back in April '93. I was only 12 but remember two distinct things from the game.

Firstly walking up the steps and seeing the pitch for the first time and thinking how small it was in real life.
Second was going 5-0 up and the whole crowd singing "Erik, what's the score? Erik, Erik, what's the score?" And Erik the Viking putting his hand in the air to show 5. I was hooked from there onwards learning all the songs and desperate to get back for another game.

That’s quite the point (y) I think many including myself have been feeling very disconnected and maybe even lost ourselves a bit during this difficult year so I thought it could be nice to share some stories to get some of the buzz back. All replies have been fascinating. Keep them coming!
