Voted for Gomes. Interesting to see posters on a blackburn board arguing that Robbo should have come for the cross, or that his positioning was wrong, or it was just unlucky and the shot was unstoppable and how the defence is shakey so it's not the keeper's fault, lol. Sound familiar??

Im surprised at all the gomes votes.

Im guessing these are all coming from his ONE good game so far vs chelsea, im not going to deny he looked absolutely class, but its been his first good performance, one mistake and a bit of low confidence and it could all change. He did nothing special vs boro and sunderland, and could even claim the blame for Sunderlands winner at WHL.

On paper, if you had not seen any of them perform, all the hype and praise, good performances at the euro's, my vote goes to Modric.

Bentley, I love the guy's enthusiasm, he's one of us, just think how he feels when he pulls on that shirt to play for us, he gets my vote.

It's clearly a toss up between Gomes and Modric. One is a superb goalkeeper who already has made a name for himself, the other is just simply the most talented player in our squad. In the end it comes down to personal taste, i went with Modric.

Bentley for me, as he adds craft, a good crossing technique and the ability to shoot from range. I was tempted to vote for Fraizer Campbell though....

I think all of them need to find a position in the team (with the exception of Gomes obviously) and settle in it. None more so than Modric, who is undoubtedly a class player but one who isn't dictating play enough at the moment, as he is lying too deep most of the time. Players need to know their roles and be able to carry them out!

Voted Gomes. Can only get to see a max of 2/3 games a year and was lucky enough to be at the Sunderland game. Even though we lost, I was really impressed with him. He was just unlucky that he was let down by the 10 players in front of him. When he does have the 10 in front of him working hard and sticking to the game plan, he can put in world class performances like we saw vs Chelsea.

On the other signings, I excited about our Croatians. Obviously everyone rate's Modric highly, but I just worry how we'll find how he best fits into our team  Super excited over Corluka as I think he's is VERY reliable. Both King/Woody unfortunately won't play the remaining 35 league games but this guy could and he'd put in solid performance after solid performance. If we can have a defence of King or Woody with Corluka at CB every week, we'll have a very low goals against column on the league table.

Pavyluchenko is obviously one that gets the fans excited as he can be our match winner, expecially if we continue to play 1 up front. If he settles quickly, and if our midfield gel quickly (no signs of that yet unfortunately), he could get 20 league goals (or at least 20 in all competitions)

Bentley for me. After watching that SSN interview, he is a Spurs boy no doubt.

Showed us his quality in pre-season as well. Top young player.

I voted gomes because he is the most important figure in the team now.

gREAT POLE

I voted for Modric. Although tbh I am delighted with all our new signings as they are class.

I'm disappointed that Berbs left but hey he wanted to go, so...

Delighted with all the other work in the window including getting £20million for Keane.

Am I really the only person to vote for Cesar Sanchez?

Oh, mate, it was horrible. I watched the game and it completely opened my eyes to what we went through for the past 2 years.

He made 2 of the most beautiful saves (in a row) but for the rest of the game he was miserable. No claiming at all, no communication with the backline, and awful, just awful, positioning.

Blackburn should have won that game by at least 2 clear goals but while RSC limping off didn't help, it was Robbo that cost them as the first two goals were all him and gamely though the rest of them fought (if it was us, I'm sure we'd all be saying 'how is it Robbo's fault that we missed a penalty?'), once Rovers had to throw the kitchen sink at it late on they got sucker-punched twice.

Green on the other hand was excellent (as he's been every time I've watched him). If you swapped the keepers, the scoreline would also have been reversed, I promise you.

It's a Poll. Unless of course you were complimenting the thread starter on having a magnificent chopper.Eek

Meh oldies!

As for Robbo the 2nd goal the cross was on the 6 yard line uncontested, and he still never came for it!

edit: i am talking about the eveton game:oops:

There was another thread a while back asking who would be the most popular among the fans and I said Gomes then as he had character and I still think Gomes will go on to be the best signing of the lot.
