I have seen a lot of squads without Paulinho in favour of Mason very strange. ...and this obsession with Schneiderlin, to me seems like lust. We have players such as Sandro Capoue Dembele Bentaleb even Holtby and Paulinho that could do as good a job under Pochettino's guidance.

I still maintain our central defence is in need of serious reconstruction, if for any reason Dawsons considered an option.

If we went into season with this squad I'd be pretty happy tbh. Got Dawson, Lennon, Naughton and Sandro (painful but with Schneiderlin in terms of balance maybe one out) sold.

Backup attacking midfielders/wingers really are the weak spot there. Definitely think we need another classy wide man.

With Dier and Davies both being u21 but needing registration under UEFA rules, in the PL squad, both would be counted as u21's so allowing room for Vorm as our 3rd GK, and a spare place - possibly for Zeki Fryers (but with Dier and Davies joinging, there may not be a need for him as cover at CB or LB) or Ceballos or Fredericks (but not sure that the last have done quite enough to get a squad place) so its more ikely there is room for another to join.

The obvious comments is how bloated our squad is - 8 CM's for 2 place including Mason who impressed in the US and Carroll who impresssed less.

And 5 AM's and 5 CB's.

So if we improve the squad with one or two better players coming in, IMO we'll need to sell or loan out pretty much the same number. And to be honest I'd like a couple less in the squad to allow the likes of Milos Veljkovic to come through and play some minutes.

Actually its actually a strong squad - yes there are always reasons why we can upgrade, but there are no obvious places where we can say we do not have a decent amount of cover !
