He'd be nowhere near the top of the list. He was a vital part of the team that got into the Champions League and then got us to the quarter finals of that Champions League.

I know Crouch isn't everyone's cup of tea but to suggest he's one of our worst strikers ever is ridiculous.

He's the worst striker I've EVER seen put on a Spurs shirt. Worse than Andy Booth.

Off the top of my head i would have taken the below strikers ahead of him from other Prem clubs last year -

Rooney
Berba
Hernandez
Drogba
Anelka
Sturridge
Klasnic
K.Davies
Doyle
S.Fletcher
RVP
Bendtner
C.Cole
Piquionne
Demba Ba
Carroll
Suarez
Kuyt
Santa Cruz
Tevez
Balotelli
Dzeko
Bent (shows how shit Crouchie is)
Agbonlahor
Zamora
Dembele

I can go on if you want me to!

From that link that Haxman provided the first name that stood out was Kazuyuki Toda, but then realised that I cannot actually remember anything of any significance about him  Didnt even recognise him when I Googled him!

As for worst player, the likes of Tramezzani, Dean Austin, Rasiak, Fox and Sinton all spring to mind.

I think I might give it to Ginger Pele though. I know some on here defend him as a guy who always gave 100% and thats true but I always thought he looked completely out of his depth playing in the Premier League. Harsh maybe but true IMO.

Sinton had his moments.

He is right! in the current climate and quality we have in our squad no striker should be consistently starting and playing games and not scoring ...especially as a striker. He didnt have many injury problems either.

Postiga why isnt he getting picked? he has been crap since he left us aswell never that good and i will never forget the amount of sitters he once missed at highbury...

On the Chris Armstrong controversy , I'd say he is very near top of my personal dislike list . Strange because he was done for weed in his blood and did score a fair few goals .

His prob was that he came in the period of our downsizing by Sugar . CA's predessesors..like Lineker and going back Archibald etc meant that the new kick and rush Gerry Francis style of play was particularly painful to witness. Central to this was lobbing long balls ' For Chrissy to run on to ' .

He unfortunately became identified with the utterly witless backward looking dross that was Sugar's 90s Spurs .

It depends on the interpretation of 'worst' I guess. Obviously the most likely way of reading this would be to nominate a player for their poor ability on the pitch.

However if by 'worst' you mean their qualities as a human being, and their general capacity to be one of the worst persons to put on the Spurs shirt...well I'd say Sol Campbell wins it comfortably.

Has to be Toda for me.
Could be wrong, but I can only recall him getting 45 mins against Manu.
Very embarrassing for all concerned, even Roy Keane treated him in a humane way.

According to the ever-reliable Wiki he made four appearances for us across the 2002/03-03/04 seasons?

I'll be honest and admit that I just about remember his name, and don't ever remember actually seeing him play.

Saying anyone who's in our current/last years squad is just wrong, you clearly don't remember the days when we were utterly abysmal/brought in so many ridiculously terrible players as squad members.

Ricardo Rocha, Milenko Acimovic and Rasiak are some examples.

Peter Crouch and to think not only did we pay £9m for him, but to get £12m for him was an absolute master stroke. This has to be deal of any century.

People saying Doherty must have forgotten his excellent first season with us after joining from Luton. I'm not making this up, but he was generally regarded as one of our best young players that season (granted, alongside some extremely average players). He then broke his leg against Torquay in the cup and was never the same player again. For that reason (and for that season) he is nowhere near the top of my list. Although admittedly, when he was bad, he was baaaad.

Also, Andy Sinton had a genuinely great season for us too under Francis. He turned it around in front of the boo boys and was one of our best players that season (can't remember the exact season). But overall he wasn't great for us, bar that season.

For me, Rasiak was pretty awful. Tramezzani, Toda, Booth, Slade, Jackson, Rory Allen etc didn't play enough (due to shitness) so it's difficult to judge how bad they really were on a regular basis. Rasiak played for a while and it wasn't good viewing. Dean Austin was awful, Justin Edinburgh was pretty awful, Nethercotte was pretty awful. In fact, how did our defence not concede 64 goals a game? Mimms was poor too.

Armo and Doherty both had good spells, even Vega left some good memory (his bravery, broken footed, effectively won us the 99 league cup). I think Gilberto is one of the worst I've seen, but if we're going to talk about someone who played a lot the it's freund for me. No player's performances have ever irked me more. Cowardly, lacking in any ability, cheated, not my cup of tea at all and the antithesis of everything I hold dear about Spurs and their traditions. That he is in our hall of fame makes our hall of fame a huge joke!

Alnwick is a really good shout actually, showed a lot of promise at Sunderland including in a game against Man U where I remember he was outstanding. We thought we'd done a great deal exchanging him with Fulop, but Alnwick has just completely failed to kick on. Small for a goalie, 6'0", looks like a gust of wind will snap him in half, can't believe he's still at the club.

But no other player we've had anywhere near the first team in the last five years can be called our worst player in the last 20 years.

I think Zokora has to be the most disappointingly useless player we've had recently simply because of his high price tag and the hope that he'd actually improve our midfield after Carrick left.

Having said that he's far from the worst player we've had. I think Tramezzani's few performances get him in contention. Postiga was pretty hopeless, as was Rasiak.

But I think the brief loan spell of Andy Booth made me consider supporting another club. Good lord he was bad.

Zokora's a good shout. Another silent assassin.

As soon as he left we begun to rise.
