THis fella and his agent are ding a bit of whoring, and we are mentioned:

Tottenham are in talks with West Brom over Youssouf Mulumbu, who is also being targeted by Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea.
"The 25-year-old former Paris St Germain player admits that his dream is to return to the French capital club one day but he wants to step up to a bigger Premier League outfit firstly, after three seasons with the Baggies.
Mulumbu told Mercato365: "Last year, I thought it would be a little premature to go because it was my first full season. But I confirmed [my promise] this season. I continued to show all my abilities and I think I now have to look for another challenge.
"That's why I hope to join a club in another class. I had a good year, I'm pretty confident and I will leave it now to my agent.
"I'm going to go on holiday and come back stronger because I know that another big season ahead.
"We have already started talking to teams like Newcastle and Tottenham. For now, I'm leaving it all in the hands of my agent and I hope to have good surprises on my return from vacation."
Mulumbu was third, behind Spurs' Scott Parker and Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye, in the number of tackles and interceptions made by all Premier League midfielders last season."

My feeling is that, with Parker and Sandro, I couldn't really see that much need for him (though we do continue to be linked to Diarra), and they are just throwing our name into the mix for their own benefits.

So, who are we selling? Because we can't seriously be going for this guy while we have Parker, Livermore and sandro in the squad

No-one, so far as I know.
I only posted it out of a sense of duty because there were four or five stories on NewsNow on the subject. I don't think anyone has taken it too seriously.

manipulation of the media to generate interest in a player despite linking player to clubs that would be very unlikely to need him.

Football agent 101.

I first saw Mulumbu play in the 2007 Toulon Tournament and wrote an article on COYS where I rated him the prospect of the tournament ahead of the likes of Kevin Prince Boateng, Loic Remy and Kevin Gameiro.

I still rate him but with Parker, Sando and Livermore in the squad it's a strange one for us to be going after. I still think he has potential to improve and if we could pick him up on the cheap I could see him performing particularly well in the UEFA cup and possibly being sold on for a decent profit. I'm yet to be convinced by Livermore (though I hope he makes it as he seems a good guy) and with Parker and Sandro's injury record maybe it wouldn't be such a bad signing.

Good player but we have Huddlestone coming back from injury also in Sandro Parker and Livermore we're more than covered in that position.

I shudder to reveal this to you but... he's available on a free transfer.

Bring him in. A good squad player.

Amd which one of Paker and Sandro do you get rid of to make room for him - or would you prefer to get rid of Livermore. We can only have so many of any type of player.

I wouldn't mind to see Parker leave. If we sell him now, we still have some sell on value. If we wait one year or more, he will be almost like a free transfer for any other club.

And that is why so mnay posters on here think you and the decisions your skewed opinions make you say are so far off the mark.
You would get rid of one of our players of the season, who doesn't fit your profile, just to fit in a player of questionable quality, who does. And, if I remember correctly, he cost £5 or so million and is on a contract until he is 35, so I am sure we could not sell him just now without the risk of him going on a free transfer.

You need a lengthy period of re-education.

Mulumbu wants to move to newcrapple. barcodes want to make the transfer seem more of a coup. Easy fix blag that Spurs are interested.

If the club really are spending time on this transfer atm then something really is very broken in our transfer policy.
