Real shame as they play some great football at home, and rightly so with the side they have. Away form was crap though. Diego Milito i think would be a decent premiership striker, would be able to handle both the pace and physical side of the English game.
yep on 606 - someone who seemed to know the team well talked of Zapater - and with Joey saying his name too - apparently he could be the DM we need - as usual I know nowt about these foreigners but sounds interesting -

I don't know too much about Zapater, but Partizan has a good eye for a player and he rates him. For some reason I thought he was from Argentina, but apparenlty he's Spannish.
Zapater stands out for me as well, seems to be an all round defensive mid, i.e. could play in a 442, as opposed to JUST a tackler or JUST a passer. Good player, worth a try to get him, as big clubs will be after him soon enough. Belongs in a top league. Seems to have been at Zaragoza for ages but I believe he's only in his early twenties.

Ahead of Bojan actually.. whoms parents wanted him to have some rest, as he's a young player having played alot for two years now.. in Barca, u17 tournaments for Spain..
Raul has never really been in contention for a place... Aragones for some reason just don't want him...
The club's got all kinds of problems. I bet most of their players stay in Spain though. I'd take Zapater, and if Modric is meant to be a sort of creative winger, and showing Ramos' desire to play creative types on the wings like Arsenal, Aimar would be a worthy match for the Left.

Yep, and on top of that, Bojan was called up last time to the squad and had some sort of panic attack before the game. AFter that, the general concensus was that his Spain career would be after the Euros. And yeah Aragones is a dick, no matter how well Raul or Guti play for Real, they're never going to play under him again.

Alberto Zapater Arjol (born 13 June 1985 in Zaragoza, Aragon) is a Spanish footballer, currently playing for Real Zaragoza in La Liga. His position is defensive midfielder, or volante as the position is referred to in Spanish.
In 2004 Zapater was first recognised for being a promising young player, after compleing a successful season in the youth league with Real Zaragoza. He scored fourteen goals and was noted for being a very strong midfielder, as well as having great passing ability. The club's first team staff were informed of Zapater's huge potential, and the then manager Víctor Muñoz allowed him to join the first team in pre-season training.
He impressed Muñoz so much that he was given his first-team debut on Zaragoza's first game of the 2004/05 season against Valencia in the Spanish Super Cup. Although Zaragoza ended up losing the first-leg match at home 1-0, Zapater shone and impressed many Blanquillos on the night. In Zapater, the Zaragoza fans now had a new hero - a local, home-grown player that had a lot of talent.
In the 2004/05 season he had earned himself a regular place in the first team at just nineteen years of age. This was a disappointing season for the club as they finished only 11th in the league, but nevertheless Zapater had been a revelation. He took part in thirty-one games, scoring once and impressing fans and pundits alike. He gained UEFA Cup experience as well as caps for Spain-under-21s. He also took part in the Under-20s World Youth Championship for Spain, where he once again impressed in a very strong Spanish side, including players such as Cesc Fàbregas and Sergio Ramos, both of whom have since gained full international caps for Spain and took part in World Cup 06.
In the 2005/06 season, Zapater helped the club finish as runners-up in the Copa del Rey to RCD Espanyol. He is now regarded as one of the most important players at La Romareda and has certainly become a regular and a favourite amongst fans. He took part in more games this season, appearing in thirty-five games in total, although not scoring in any. His strong tackling and the amount of fouls he has committed earned him the nickname of 'The Bull', given to him by Argentine football legend Diego Maradona. On June 8, 2006, reports in Spain linked him with a move to Liverpool and also on 20 May 2007 he was linked with Arsenal.
I get the feeling he's a similar player to Xabi Alonso. Worth a punt IMO. Should cost too much either.

IMO he's not as good a passer, but more robust, similar to Owen Hargreaves for example. Technically good, a good passer and a good tackler, not outstanding in any department but an all round player.
