What a joke. He's in the top 3 or 4 players at the club this season. Ridiculous thing to say.

In all fairness that aint the hardest place to be this season though.

Zokora is bad. VERY bad, but the worst I have seen?? I think not :)

Not sure Zokora is quite as bad as your making out. I refer to him as 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' and this is why:

The Good:
(i) Fantastic Engine and ability to get up and down the pitch all day
(ii) Gives 110% every game and clearly means allot to him (more then can be said for others)
(iii) Has the ability to burst from deep midfield with the ball and open holes in oppositions midfield
(iv) Decent skill and ball control
(v) Hurries the opposition and can be a general pain in the arse to get past

The Bad:
(i) Passing is hit and miss
(ii) Clumsy tackler and gives allot of fouls away in dangerous positions
(iii) A lack of composure when put under pressure

The Ugly:
(i) Shooting! I've seen school kids with more accurate shooting then Zoko.

SUMMARY:
He reminds me very much of Steffen Freund...and ultimately, he was not good enough either despite being a fan fave. I love Zoko's passion and commitment (just as I did with Freundy), but I think he needs to be replaced in the midfield if we're to progress!

I for one am not surprised about the situation we are in at the moment.
People are pointing the finger at a number of reasons we are 3rd from bottom and have 20 points.
It started about 3 years ago when we sold Carrick to Man Utd and did not spend £15-20m on a world class Midfield General e.g. Ballack, Essien.
A player that is not afraid to get his shorts dirty.
That brings me onto to Zokora.
One of the worst overrated players I have ever seen in a Spurs shirt.
All he can do is run for 90 Mins, that’s it.
He can’t pass, shoot, read the game, keep the ball for more than 3 seconds or make a tackle without conceding a foul.
I would rather start the game with 10 men than have him running around like a headless chicken all game.
But I can’t figure out why so many people on this site and Spurs fans in general thinks he’s the bees knees.
I’ve lost count of the amount of times he’s given the ball away, put us in tight situations, given away needless fouls and
Been in goal scoring positions and put the ball in row Z.
Bottom line is he is absolutely Sh*t.
I don’t care if people slate me for what I’m saying.
It’s the truth.
Too many fans are wearing there “Spurs Glasses” when watching him.
What I mean by that is just because he is wearing the shirt and running around all game people think
He’s doing a good job and trying hard.
He is doing neither.
If he was as good as many fans on here think, why aren’t any of the top 4 or any other top teams in Europe knocking
On our door with offers. Because if he was that good they would have signed him before we did.
But no, we wasted £8m on him and we have just given him a new 4 year deal.
What the hell is that all about.
As long as he keeps playing we are not going to win games.
I’m so glad he did not score the winning goal in the Carling Cup Final last year.
He would have been put in the hall of fame and given a contract for life.

The fact is that we have a team that IS good enough to be in the top 6, but we don’t have a team to get us out the bottom half the
Table.
Harry is the right man to get us out of this slump.
But players like Zokora are not.

Bring on the Abuse, I’m ready for it, But don’t care.

:rofl: :roll: :stupid: :bs::duh::adios:

Very well put, I very much agree with you although I would argue that his skill and ball control isn't really all that good, particularly his first touch.

I expect him to have more to his game than the ability to hassle, being able to hold a position and sit in front of the back four breaking up play would be a start.

Which he does. The back for play too deep to be of any assistance to him though.

Remember he's a CM not a DM

And that's why we need to replace him, at least in the starting 11. A solid DM can get away with a total lack of on-the-ball skills (see Makelele, although he was far from bad on the ball), a CM like Zokora can't get away with it.

His ball control must be good to allow him to do those dizzying runs around players

And the worst first touch award goes to D Bent. He can not hold the ball and usually has to run after a ball that has bounced off him

Where do you start with this one?

Look, I don't think there is anybody in the entire world, perhaps excluding Zokora's close family, who think he is the "bee's knees" but there are quite a few PROFESSIONAL football managers who seem to think he is not too bad. Ramos, Jol, Redknapp, the Ivory Coast manager, plus the other club managers he has played for.

I can't even be bothered to defend him, but what I will say is that there are other players who are far, far worse than him. If we had 11 players with commitment and spirit of Zokora we would not be in the bottom 3. Bent, Bentley, Hudd, Bale, Jenas have all been much worse at their jobs than Zokora this season.

You need to actually watch the match instead of shouting at the telly with your eyes closed.

The whole point of my post was because i have had enough of WATCHING him week in week out on TV and at the game.
Even if you did shout out the telly with your eyes closed, you can still hear how crap he is every time the commentator goes "Possesion lost again by Zokora".

It's one thing to go past players, it's a totally different matter to be unable to take his eye off the ball and pick out a team-mate with a pass whilst doing those runs. I can't remember the last time I saw a Zokora run turn into a good opportunity, they're usually wasted by him running into a defender because his eyes are firmly on the ball.

My preference is for 2 CMs in a 4-4-2 so there is always a late runner into the box.

In a 4-2-3-1 then I'd agree that we need at least 1 decent DM and a disciplined CM to stay back. Say Mascherano playing along the Hudd.

We do not compress the play enough when not in possession. Probaby cos Dawson is as slow as the Hudd. A faster CB would allow the back line to defend higher up the pitch squeezing out the space.

I'm not suprised mate.
When you give honest opinions on here you always get a bashing.
People don't like hearing the truth.

On the whole I disagree with your opinion of Zokora, but I don't feel you deserve the rep bashing that you have got. From what I can see, you haven't been rude otr aggressive in getting your opinion across. I do feel however that if Zokora is the worst footballer you have ever seen, you obviously watch very little football.

EDIT: just seen your post above....how can you expect to have your opinion respected when you react like that to thers....REP Bashing condoned!!
