It'll be interesting to see if Zokora improves under Ramos as he has played all the games bar one I think?

We do need a new defensive midfielder though as Huddlestone does not appear to be making the grade and Zokora is gonna be off to the African Cup of Nations in January.

Tainio can't be trusted to stay fit so we could be a bit short in this department...

We paid 8 million somethings for Zokora. It's not clear whether it was pounds, euros (where the 5.6m pounds comes from) or even dollars.

€8m = £5.6m

Yup. He did for Lyon.

No one other than Spurs and St Etiene (sp) are 100%, but I'm confident it was €8m.

No one believes me, but I swear I started this 8 million euros rumour. I've since provided links that pretty much prove my own bullshit. But no one believes it when i claim to have been the originator of the euro not pound theory. It's all based on the 10% of market cap issue, but at the time the market cap was £42 million. Hence, if true, it means Zokora cost under £4.2 million, which no one has claimed. If there was genuine missquotaing in the British press and it was infact euros and not punds, then it would have been reported as 8 million euros in France, but it wasn't. All the main French sources reported about 12 million euros. It even says on the Tottenham Trust website that it is a transaction of 10%, not a deal worth 10% of market cap. So, as long as it is paid in chunks, over different accounting periods, we can pay the fee without announcing it to the stock exchange. So basically the whole argument, on which the doubts over his fee were first raised, is totally flawed.

Ok, I'm wrong, I bow down to the irresistable force of your reasoned argument.

I'm not saying he's a world beater or that we couldn't do better, just that he does have attributes which make him a premiership quality footballer.

I'd love to see you try and disprove the qualities I have pointed out.

Zokora hasn't had a good start to the season without a doubt, i think he may progess under the ramos era, certainly struggles next to Huddlestone and i think anyone would find it hard to impress alongside Jenas away from home, id love to see an progressive signing in January; Poulsen,Appiah

Big mistake not replacing him with Parker in the summer, any opinions on that?

It seem everyone hate's the bloke.

Zokora has great pace he makes some good challenges during matches he makes passes which sometimes lead to goals, all he needs is a better end product.

I think ramos will get the best out of zoko.

 I am 100% with you on that! I really like Zoko, ok so he doesn't score BUT - it's hardly the end of the world when 2 of your other midfielders product 3 out of 4 goals

I like Zoko a lot and as above, believe we are yet to see what he can really do.

I agree that Zokora has not played up to his best this season, but overall the team have not played good at the start of the season due to tactics by Jol.

When Ramos took over, we have got the results right, but we have still lacked a little bit in midfield. Zokora also needs to get up with his best play, but the main problem has not been Zokora, but the teamplay.

I believe that Ramos will get the best out of Zokora. Zokora's movement, pace and agression in midfield is valuble. He is also very comitted to Tottenham, and eager to do well for the Club. I know what a good player he is, and that he has a lot to give to THFC. We will see the best of Zokora soon.

Agression?

He has no agression at all, he's very weak in the tackle.

Could anyone other than Spursking please tell me what redeeming features this bloke has. He can't tackle, can't pass more than 5 yards and runs up blind allies. Even in a game today where we played against a really shocking team he was utterly useless. Surely his time is up ?

you for real???? I back Zoko 100%

No real need to start a Zoko bashing thread as all the team played well today. Some of the people that hate him will just not accept if he has a good game, like he did today. He wasn't outstanding, he didn't need to be, but one or two little mistakes aside, he let Jenas do what he does best.

He may be a bit hit and miss for us but he's certainly not a bad player. If we go and buy an outstanding CM in January, then all the better, but until then, he ain't that bad and you can tell by the way he celebrates with his team-mates that he loves the club.

It's not really fair to pick him out today. I'm sure if you wait a week or so, there'll be 4 or 5 more Zoko bashing threads you can choose from. And that's without us even playing a game.

That's one of the best posts you've made without using the words spunk, anal, shag, nipples, wankfestooned tit salute etc.

But it wasn't as funny.

Why do some people like Zokora?

Easy. Can't tackle, can't pass, can't score. But he's got the best song. Admit it, however bad he is, you just can't help joining in with 'Do Do Do....'
