I'm not too downbeat about this because as Brazil Yid says, the info is a few weeks old and who knows how long it took to get to him in the first place? This could well be what the position was (us expecting a bid etc) before or at the end of last season and who knows what's gone on/changed since then. Might be something, might be nothing.
At the end of the day, every player has their price and that's the position even if Bale had only signed a new contract yesterday and gave an interview saying how he doesn't want to go anywhere. Its always the position.
Maybe when cabinessence referred to 11 players out in his ITK he was actually talking about Bale leaving.
Now I'm worried too dammit.
He's not one of the 11 he's all of the 11. Gareth Bale is a one man team apparently. I read it in the papers at all of last season.FFS.... then Bale name should appear as the first one. Dont worry mate. GB will be here next season.
Even then. Every player has his price. Whatever the circumstances, whoever the player, there is a number. Sorry to disagree, it wouldn't be very nice of Levy to go back on a promise, even if he pinkie swore, but if the price is right, he'll sell. Not if you have just told your head coach and new star signing that he isn't going anywhere.
Fear not, it makes poor business sense to sell Bale and Levy cant be accused of that.If we sign Paulinho, Villa and the Croatian lads, then it is my fear that we will sell Bale at the end of the window to finance the incomings.

Just finished yesterdays thread, and want to add my tuppence worth.
I work with a Real Madrid fan, and he expects a huge bid from Real for Bale. Perez was already under pressure and then Barca signed Neymar. Then Neymar played quite well in the Con Cup and put him under even more pressure for a star signing. Isco has hardly made a ripple, and plenty saying even Suarez will not keep the Madrid "faithful" happy. Only Bale or Cavani will appease them as it stands. It is one of the reasons that Higuain has not been announced to Arsenal yet as he is a fan favourite and selling him without a big name in will cause huge unrest.
He agreed with me that as £80m has been bandied around and ignored it would take an even bigger bid for Levy to start considering it, at which point he may well leave it up to Bale to choose, or should I say his girlfriend, she may hold the key to where he goes.

If Bale leaves then, he loses the BT sport contract, because he is the face of it promoting the Premiership. He ain't going anywhere. BT Sport wouldn't have signed up unless there was something saying that he would be here for their launch season.
