Seems to be a lot of panic around from last night, but is it really anything we didn't know already? We know what RM are like, no news then lets make some.....sheesh.

Lets not jump at shadows, especially when there is really positive ITK out there.

(fed up with RM & Bale talk being rehashed time and again)

Except when Ronaldo left for Real Madrid, which is the point here.

Who told you this? The papers?

Did Man UTD go out and splash any of that lovely money they supposedly had in the bank? Well, no, because they didn't have it.

In the thread last night someone said RM owe us 20 m£ for Modric, this could actually be a good downpayment on a Madrid player.

Personally I think Bale is probably quite excited about this coming season, we are what with Pauli' and Villa and with Cabinessence ITK about another three or four coming in so why wouldn't he be.
I suspect he'd like to go, if that time ever comes, on a high having achieved success at Spurs and hopes that can happen in the next year or two.

This 'special relationship' we have with Real Madrid seems utterly, utterly worthless.

'We sold Modric to Real, but the silver lining is that they REALLY like us now! :p'

Balls.

I didn't see what was said about Bale leaving last night. But I honestly can't see him being sold this Transfer window. As someone states earlier i think it's been taken from Bale's recent quotes about liking the Champions League music .

Hopefully we announce Paulinho and Villa today, will be a real statement of intent from us.

Wow, the hypotheticals of last night have spawned some melancholy haven't they. The agent saying something other than no comment hasn't helped but then he has a job to do I suppose. No need for panic yet.

As it stands, this is just the usual Marca/RM guff. They're probably sitting there puce with rage that we haven't already rung them up and offered Bale to them ourselves. Uppity little rascals that we are.

THere was some comment from the Higuain thread that the scums is unable to meet the asking price hence no deal..... rather that a deal is closed. If RM sold Higuain, they can use the proceeds to bid for Cavani.

Ha ha.. now reported in Goal on the Higuain deal.

Hmmm will the scums come back for Villa?

Bale will be here next season, i actually think Joe Lewis and DL are going for it this year, for the first time, they are prepared to spend money and take a chance on not only getting top 4, but maybe winning the damm thing..But I can dream...

They bought Valencia and some others, all undisclosed it seems. Plus the profit they made, which would have been a huge loss if it wasn't for the sale.

As newspapers and sites tend to report news, it would make sense that a story on this transfer would appear there where it does indeed say the fee was paid upfront. You seem to know otherwise, in which case your knowledge is wasted here.

We would anticipate and expect a big bid for Bale, we might actually welcome it, because financially if you have genuine offers for players you can show a far greater value on an assets-that's important if you are looking for financing for the stadium as it adds to the overall asset value of the club
It doesn't mean we want to sell simply that we are more than happy having concrete offers of high value
I think the Spanish press well at list the Madrid press will pounce on any comment from Bale that they might twist to make it look like he wants to go there, I think the fact that we appear to be spending a bit of money will just as easily support the arguments for those saying it shows we'll sell Bale as it does for those that suggest we are spending to show ambition to keep him
So many comments from players and AVB suggest Bale is not moving, there are enough reasons to think the funds we are spending are there and not reliant on any sale of Bale that I have to think whatever may happen next summer he'll go nowhere this and as I've said before from a financial aspect Bale is probably worth far more to the club in terms of raising funding, naming rights and sponsorship for the new stadium that even say a £70 or £80 mill sale, after all he is unlikely to be any less saleable next season or the year after. We can only sell him once, far better when we have raised funding and sponsorship

I've been dreaming the same - although I'm far to bitter to truely believe it.

The only thing nagging at me is the extra TV money. I don;t know much about it but it seems Levy is all about building value in the club and not necessarily profit each year and therefore I'm hoping the extra TV money can go straight into the squad.

Whoops forgot todays Marca

Real Madrid has decided to put the Gareth Bale signing on hold. After receiving yet another "no" from Tottenham, Florentino Pérez and his team have decided to call it a day, and now see the signing of Bale this summer as impossible

Really don't think AVB and Paulinho would be lied to. Or Villa. Or anybody coming in. It would have to be a deadline deal. And that has to have an impact bigger than just dollars and on the field tactics. Business is business. But I'm sure morale would be wrecked.
