The Illaramendi loan option sounds a bit odd to me. If we were prepared to take a loan signing we could have had Rabiot ages ago (IIRC) but we turned it down because we wanted a permanent deal. Maybe there would be a buy option for Illaramendi but not Rabiot.

The ITK was specifically that we're not getting the fucking Pea!!! How can we be talking about whether we want the Pea, when the whole point of telling us is because we're not fucking getting him??? Basically shut up about the bloody Pea!

Please :barefoot:
Are you peed off then?

He might not want to join perm and might want to see if he likes it in London? Or the club runs his contract down one more year to meet the asking price?

just hope Leverkusen gets dump out of CL.

I have a sneaky feeling that the illara deal would involve one of those horrid buy back options from Madrid, as it seems to be happening quite regularly with these big 2 Spanish clubs.. Naturally I don't think we would be interested in that at all

They only do that with their youth players.

Same to me too. Unless things have change and we are financing another attacking player (or another player) on top of SB by the end of this transfer window? So a loan to buy option will push the buying of Illaramendi to next summer to balance accounts?

We might not like it but the sunnier climes of Italy and a CL team might just appeal more than us. Then again, maybe not.
We have to be in with a shout

I think the "CL" reason is normally more because of the fact that CL clubs pay better money. Players tend to say that they want a CL team as it makes them seem more ambitious.

Not quite sure what Illarramendi is holding out for.

I have it on good authority that THFC is by far the greatest team that the world has ever seen.
wish I could give this more than 1 rating coz this is the bollocks

Works for both parties. If Illaramendi wanted to join us and we said 'yeah, okay, can you just sit in the corner until we've finished our business over here' then he'd feel a bit put out by that, but it sounds like he's happy to do the same to us - eventually we'll both realise the grass isn't greener and hug it out as we're the best each other can do

Thing I don't get with the DM situation, is what's taking so long. I would think the Kramer and Bender deals would be pretty straight forward. The clubs don't want to sell so they'll name a high price, and Levy will either pay it or he won't. Then it's just down to whether the players want to come or not. We don't need to wait till deadline day to work those out. If the clubs don't want to sell, then they're not suddenly going to drop the price on deadline day. Or are they?

Is anyone else worried that deadline day closes at 6pm? I'm not sure if Daniel Levy can get things done that early in the day.

The window closed early when we got VDV, so I understand your concern, but these deals have been in the making for a long time. We got Lloris early on deadline day as well, iirc.
