Son doing an absolutely smashing job of filling in for Kane. Been a fucking liability lately and doesn’t receive nearly as much criticism as he deserves.
@JUSTINSIGNAL wants to fight you: he's saying that he's knobbed your mum and that Son is the only stand-in we could possibly need for Kane. I'll hold your coat, SMC, you got this.

It is so unbelievably obvious what the team needs, yet the feeling you get is that the likelihood of Levy actually pulling his finger out and buying the two players we're crying out for is slim to none.

I'm very very close to the breaking point. We endured years of neglect of the squad in the transfer market and we are now seeing the results. The remedy is clear, but then it's been clear since Wanyama injured his knee five fucking transfer windows ago now that we've desperately needed a DM, and nothing whatsoever has been done about it. I don't know if I can carry on giving a shit about the dreadful football being served up if the club can't even make the commitment necessary to even attempt to compete.
The concept of Winks playing as a DM and that being acceptable on more then a one off emergency occasion is just astounding. I completely agree with you, how we haven't bought one and still don't seem to be looking for one. I don't understand our transfer activity at all really.

The thing is that we did buy players in those positions under Poch. Trippier, Aurier, Sessesgnon, Dier, Wanyama, Janssen, Llorrente. Quite a significant outlay between them actually. Is it Levy's fault that they all either haven't worked out, or succumbed to very serious injury issues? I don't think so - I expect he controls the chequebook, but isn't responsible for scouting or for the final decision on whether or not a player suits the squad. That's got to be between the scouts and the manager, both of whom appear to have underperformed in that regard.

We bought Trippier as a backup in 2015 and made profit on him but we didn’t replace him
Aurier was a risk signing and it hasn’t worked out
Sessegnon is one for the future and we bought him when he was injured
Dier we bought in 2014 but is finished and we should’ve known that before this season
Wanyama was a fantastic signing and would’ve solved a lot of problems today if he was at his peak but we’ve known he’s finished long time ago and still hasn’t bought a DM which we really need
Janssen was a good signing but didn’t work out
Llorente was a short term fix and when he left we didn’t replace him

We’ve been awful in the market most times

This team players like a cover that has been knocked down a few too many times, we look quite confident when terms sit off us, but attack us and we shit ourselves.

So much misreading of defensive situations. Playing the man instead of the ball. Backing off when it's 60/in our favour (or more) and abysmal first touches from, Alli, Moura and Son.

Positives, more minutes for GLC and Lamela plus Japhet grew into the role at LB after a torrid first half. Oh and that diving cheat missed a pen. Bottler.

Thought we started really positively and if we had a proper striker on the pitch, reckon we would have scored today.
Yup, agree, it's one of three obvious positions we need to be addressing right now, the fact we're now in the last two weeks of the window and this is an issue is disheartening.

He needs a front man that can at least achieve some of the things he wants and needs to make this starting 11 work.

We live in hope I suppose.

Why will a new striker help us? He’ll just have Son, Moura and Alli all stood on his toes all game. Our lack of width is criminal.
Repeating myself but these three should not play in the same
Team too fucking lightweight.

Draw was fair enough. It was a scrappy game, a lot of pinball and being forced to clear our lines, which Watford did their best to make it that way with long balls and direct wing play and meant we didn't have enough control of the game or the ball and were unable to play the game in their half for long enough spells and build pressure. And when we didn't have that, you were never going to see the full potential of the XI selected today. The first 10 mins was a blueprint of how the game needed to go, patient probing possession with nice interchanges, but beyond that it never materialised.

As a plus though I thought there was again a better commitment today. You could go round most of our players and pick out moment(s) where they got an important block/tackle in and putting themselves on the line, the last couple of league fixtures we've at least been getting that from them - which hasn't been the case for too long now.
Honestly think it was a case of us struggling with the physical battle today, and considering the players we had available there was not a lot Jose could have done on that front. The only mistake I feel was Tanganga at LB to take on what looked like a traditional right winger.

I wasn't too discouraged by that game. I think yeah if you're comparing it to our best moments in recent years then it sucks but if you look at it from the perspective of a rebuild that was a few encouraging things. There was a significantly better midfield set up I felt with more solidity and you can see how Ndombele could take over from Winks in that role. We're clearly lacking a focal point up top that's for damn sure. I thought in terms of actually playing football we were better today than recent weeks, there were a few good moves here and there.

Squad obviously needs some reinforcements and a few players clearly need to be pushed out. I'd be looking at Tanganga instead of Vert and then bringing Davies in with this set up if you want to continue with Aurier. I thought Aurier kept threatening to have a great game and then it wasn't coming off but overall he did well. I thought Eriksen was alright when he came on and Gedson had a few moments where you could see he had something.

This is it. Like it or not we hit rock bottom and its about how we rebuild. This was a tricky away fixture looking at the form table. There were positives today.

- clean sheet
- defensive mistakes cut down
- less hoof ball, some nice interplay with GLC central to it
- no questions of commitment
- finished strong, fitness appears to be improving

A bit of magic or help from the ref today and we can win that game, not to mention being inches away at the death with the GLT. Unfortunately that magic isn't coming at the moment.

When you consider the players missing I think we did well. Need to buy a striker this window as that could have been the edge today.

Top 4 is long gone. It's all about the rebuild now. Grab europa and hopefully have a good run in the FA Cup. Let's build on this and put Norwich to the sword in midweek.

At least Jose knows we dont have a defensive player in CM
Called winks a link player, and then everyone is offensive.

But he needs to fix that, no point in complaining/frustrated by it and not sort it

30 long ball plus in a game I beg to differ

Im sorry but what are you expecting from that squad. We won our first away game for nearly a year under Jose. You want him to turn us into Barcelona in a couple of months? It’s extraordinary how reactionary Tottenham fans can be - many clearly don’t remember (or are too young to know about) us before Champions League days.

We looked solid today - a few more signings and we will be ok. But the squad clearly needs freshening up, I would objectively want to put that rebuild in the hands of one of the most successful managers in Football history.

Winks is such a nothing player, for me.

Hes your classic 6/10 player that does nothing to affect the game. Doesnt score, doesnt defend the back 4 particularly well, doesnt create chances, barely makes a meaningful forward pass, gives away too many free kicks, and cant beat a man with a drop of the shoulder.

Hes essentially the epitome of this team at the moment.

Remember everyone saying we got most of our tough away games out of the way first half of the season.

Bet you never factored Watford into that!

If you're paying any money directly to the club (attending matches, holding memberships, buying merchandise) then stop. It's the only way we can make our voice heard; not saying that it necessarily works, but it's the only tool we have as fans.

Hate the feeling that this doesn't feel that bad a result. We've been bad for ages, we have no striker, Watford are on form and it was their home game.

Shows what sort of situation we are in.
It’s a decent result. Speaks volumes really

I have little hope for this side going forward, on and off the pitch!
Defended quite well.
