It isn’t mate. I was simply a mistake. I don’t wanna offend anyone.I really hope that's not sarcastic. Seen and dealt with depression and it is not a good place

I really don't get this hatred against Rose. Obviously that one interview wasn't the smartest thing he has ever done, but he wasn't actually wrong. There were definitely fans early on in his career that made their views on him heard - because they didn't think he was good enough. So he slips up.
On the pitch he always gave it his all. And this idea that he has been %"%"! for quite a long time is just false. One of our best players in the CL final. He isn't the same as he used to be, but let us not making him out worse than he is.
On the contract situation. So he wants to stay, but he doesn't get a new offer and we are to criticize him for staying? That is just absurd to me - and the Eriksen situation is not comparable. Are we as fans going to hound out players that do want to stay, but the club won't extend? I don't get it at all. Slightly embarrassed actually on how some Spursfans are currently behaving.
As for him as a player today - clearly not good enough. As with Vertonghen I really don't know what they were up to this summer. Vertonghen went from his best season to being %""%. Rose went from an average season with solid performances in the big games to even worse than Vertonghen. I don't think there is much value left for us in Rose (probably none), but I still respect him. And if he wants to stay for 1.5 years trying to fight his way back he is more then welcome.
No, that's very true but in this latest incident, it feels more like he's run off to have a bitch, rather than been asked questions.
I not really had much of an issue with anything he's said in the past but telling lies about his team mates is a different kettle of fish. He's not giving honest answers to questions, he's making up stories about unhappiness within the squad.
Doesn't matter if he was right or wrong. It was unprofessional.
Sure, but does it warrant all this negatively years after?
I rather have football players speaking their mind, being honest etc. risking saying something they might regret, shouldn't have said etc., than having football players saying nothing because they are so afraid something might come out the wrong way.
Even more so from a guy that has been brave and open about some of his personal issues. So he was mentally in a tough place at the time, says something "unprofessional" and now we are not to support him due to that? Says a lot about us if that is the case.
Not that I mind people wanting him gone because they don't think he can contribute any longer on the pitch. That is fair, but you can want that also as you say in a "professional" manner.
You might, many of us don't. Any player will always be representing the club when they conduct interviews. Anything that can be taken as negative or a critisicm can be used against the club for clicks. Like the "training ground bust up".
If he wanted to help spread awareness about depression or whatever, then he can set up/help organizations using money in his own name.
Even if there is a disagreement on that part I don't see how it warrants this kind of negativity.
As for comments being used against the club - they happen anyway. Just recently Alderweireld had to answer that kind of question without any public comments from anyone else triggering it.
That is not a question of spreading awareness. It is recognizing people are not robots. Son loses his head and gets an unnecessary red card. Unprofessional and that warrants criticism, but should we still hold it against him years from now?
Yeah, it's not just a one time thing. He's been doing it several times. I'll be happy when we can have some peace and quiet again.
And it was wrong. He effectively suggested that his team mates shouldn’t have been brought in as he didn’t know them by name before meetingDoesn't matter if he was right or wrong. It was unprofessional.
I’m not sure depression is a mental illness.
Can't be denied that it was a stupid interview to do, but that aside I actually respect Rose for his outspoken nature. There aren't too many footballers in the modern game that are as open about how they feel and cut through the bland, bullshit PR speak that seems to permeate every interview these days.Doesn't matter if he was right or wrong. It was unprofessional.
Just so you're aware, in the UK severe depression is classed higher on the disability rankings than someone who has suffered a severe stroke with long term consequences because of that. Happy to share the image I took from my workbook from when I did a mental health first aid course 2 weeks ago if you require proof.I’m not sure depression is a mental illness.

Sure he's not the most professional and he's made some mistakes, but the game would be poorer without players like Rose speaking out honestly about how they feel. His contribution towards mental health in football alone is worth huge respect.
I was speaking generally. I completely agree about the stupidity of that particular interview, I was more referring to his media persona in general ie. always outspoken and disarmingly frank.Players stopped giving interesting interviews because journalists spun and manipulated what they've said for sensationalism. So I can understand them being wary of interviews. Rose's wasn't though, it was from the horses mouth. Direct quotes of a trouble making nature, completely different to being misquoted for a headline.
