There was such minimal information reported about Onomah’s transfer. It seems like he was used as a makeweight for Sess but I wonder if Levy tacked in a sell-on clause or bonuses. Maybe we got paid a fee for them going up yesterday.

As a full back though, for a relegated team. 15 goals in a Championship season when he played further forward. He was a sensation at a very young age. Gareth Bale at the same age as Sessegnon's first Premier League season was also his first with us - Bale played 8 scored twice.
When Bale was same age as Sessegnon's first season with us he played 16 times without scoring in the league.
The season Sessegnon has ahead of him now, Bale played 23 times in PL and scored 3 after he got his opportunity when Assou-Ekotto got injured.
2021/22 season for Sessegnon is the same when Bale took off and had his Inter breakthrough
Don’t think he played much at fullback last season. He switched between RW & LW in the game against us at Wembley last year.

Sessegnon is slow ... Otherwise he could be trusted to play as further forward
I sometimes think you know you’re being ridiculous because sometimes your not so outlandish, and then other times I think you must have been dropped on your head. Not just this comment but lots of them.

How much did we pay for Sessegnon? £25 million and Onomah?

Sessegnon’s time with Fulham in the Premier League was none too successful. Two goals in 35 appearances. I think Levy really got taken to the cleaners on this one. Or is it possible that the deal for Sessegnon was more than simply a player acquisition? It really was such an awful transaction by the normally penny-pinching Levy that I wonder if there was more to it..
2 goals and 6 assists for 18yrs old in his first Premier League season in the worst team of the league under 3 managers playing in couple of different positions was unsuccessful?

I think we might be making a mistake trying to shoe horn Sessengnon into a left back when really his potential is to be a wing forward similar to Gnabry.

I would like to see him get a run of games whether that be at left back or further forward.

I cannot remember him being bad for us or looking out of his depth? Can anyone else?

He was very timid and lacked confidence to try things too often doing the simple passes or not taking on the fullback

Yes unfortunately I can, watching him on several occasions he looked completely lost, physically weak and looked well out of his depth....

Would be good for him. He's not starting ahead of Son on the left hand-side, nor Bergwijn, and I don't think being relegated to a handful of Europa/Carabao cup games every few weeks without any consistent run in the side is going to do much for his development.

Last summers transfer window - boy oh boy.

I'm a fan of Sess and think he has the talent, at least he wants game time, that's a plus, right?

If he's going to be on the periphery again then I'd be all for this to get him game time and perhaps alongside Skipp who'd also thrive under Parker's stewardship.

Does leave us short at left back unless Rose can be brought back in from the cold.

Agree on this. I hope we can give him that run of games to build his confidence (which he clearly needs) but this wouldn't be a bad move providing we have/can bring in cover.

I'm not sure it should be Rose at this stage but you never know.

Castagne may be the obvious choice dependant on other deals, as he covers LB and RB potentially.

He's unlucky he started his games for us under Poch. His timidness was stuck from then on.

Hope Mourinho can give him more game time next season. It took even Davies some time to become tenacious under Mourinho.

Don't believe you can loan 2 from same club in prem.

We need a left back if Sessegnon goes, so I don't see the point in loaning him. The only way it would make sense is if we've found an experienced option to cover on loan whilst RS gets games. Surely Rose isn't good enough now, even as a backup.

Castagne would seem to be the best option although I've no idea how good he is on both sides. Could be another Kyle Naughton for all I know.

If we're selling Aurier and loaning Sessegnon, then having one RB and one LB isn't enough, even if Castagne can cover both sides. We'd need another RB or LB in that case.

Invert the system. I want Sessegnon getting into those positions that Aurier did at times this year. He's far more capable in front of goal and his crossing is better too. The lad has a good brain, it's been something that has been talked about in the past, but he's timid and scared to put his foot in. This role would get the most out of him, we just need a more stable RB.
