I mean at this point we might as well drag it on to the last day, even if we got a ST or Milan this week they wouldn't have time to start, so let Levy do his thing. Its annoying its got to this point and it may if cost us Sonny for a few weeks, but if leaving till DD gets the deals done, then so be it

I understand why, and some seemingly on a kind of meltdown. Firstly, I expect the CH to be concluded very soon. ST is not far behind. Today one of favourite, following days someone else. I said at the onset that this window will be a very creative one, with long structured payment plans deals and loans. Some will say ‘why did we sign a LB when we have more pressing needs elsewhere?’ Good question. If selling clubs adopted the mentality of RM on reasonable terms of payment we would be further down the road.

We know who we want, and very confident we will get the ST we want (profile-wise). Selling clubs are expecting clubs like ours to pay 50% upfront. Not going to happen! Then we agree ‘loan with option’. We believe we have an agreement, only to find out they want ‘obligation’ and not ‘option’. Please relax

Thanks. Can totally see why clubs end up changing goal posts - it happens in every form of business where you're transferring assets that are hard to value.

Interesting, cheers Herc

It's hard to blame the club for being careful spending. No one without an oligarch or rich arab is spending at the moment. Everyone is trying to clear players out to raise funds or trying to get players on loans. I'm delighted with what we have done so far but saying that, we're utterly goosed without another CF.

I can understand why we would hold out if it means we get the right striker at the end of the window. People complain that we haven't signed a striker yet also complain about half the strikers we get linked too. I think the club is always trying to get the best we can afford but that can drag on. It's a risky strategy but maybe a necessary one.

weve had a brilliant window so far, as long as we get a striker option of some quality IMO its not as big of an issue as some are making out. We dont need a 40m starting striker, just an option to rest Kane. Bale and Son are good CF options, and yes i know Son cant do it on his own or whatever Jose said, but its the lack of other goalscorers which was the issue when son plays up front not his ability to play there. We now have bale this year and Alli (if he gets going) as well as lamela Moura Berwyn all score goals.

Stop panicking and judge at the END of the weekend. Any signings we make now are going to be for after the international break so give him the week to conclude hopefully a great window.

On the conversation of money. Europa League gets you 15 million if you get to the groups. So stands to reason why we will wait for after Thursday.

Nope. Sorry. We cant cry skint here. Not when we blew our wage structure out of the water & spent a further 30m on a left back when we had 3 of.
Tbf he did say RM offered us a nice payment plan which implies we didn't pay a whole lot up front for Reguilon.

Also, while LB may not have been our most high priority position, I think that signing was a big coup and we'd massively rue to regret it if we'd missed out.

Most of us didn't even consider CB to be a huge priority so if we do manage to bring in Skriniar that makes this an incredible window.

I'd certainly rather we get a 2nd rate backup striker and a top quality CB and LB than the other way around.

Yep, now it's gone this far it may as well go to the last second of Deadline Day tbh, no point getting worked up about something that can't actually help us during this difficult week. Can only hope that the mad Deadline Day scramble will see Levy come into his own.

We have Ben and Sergio, so why are we talking about LB? I dont see any ITK with regards to getting another

It's people suggesting we didn't need Reg when we already have Davies and Sess, which is nonsense, it was one of the first positions we should (and did) look to upgrade.

people are bitching that we bought Sergio when we had "3 LB" which, we have Ben, Rose on the way out hardly counts, and Sess isn't projecting to be a LB rather a LM. Sergio signing was massive.

I like the idea that we should hold off any other signings until a striker is signed. If that were the case we would of missedout on Bale. It isn't a case of we can only negotiate for one position at a time, other signings haven't impacted on our persuit of a striker. It's just a shame Real Madrid didn't have a center forward to offload.

Nice update from Hercs.

As much as the lack of crowds impacts us it also impacts many other clubs and so far our main ST targets are still available with the window looming to a close. At least one of those clubs will need the cash injection, IMO it will be a game of who bites on our offer first.

I think with Inter it's clear that they are trying to drum up interest from elsewhere before giving in to our offer (or at least coming down to a level we can agree with them on). Again at the moment there doesn't seem to be anyone else seriously in the frame for him so that will work for us.
