Solid window but what happens to the ‘summer rebuild’ if none of the clubs exercise their options on the loan players? Are we not back to square one?
Lo Celso was class in Spain, Ndombele was class in France. They're much more likely to impress there again than being on the outside looking in here for the next few months. The big picture is they will only increase their value in that time. It's a clever move from us to send them where they did so well before.

I'm happy'ish. For those saying we've cleared the decks for the summer we haven't really. Those loans are with options that might not be taken up do they could be back.

Off the wage bill for now so we can get saving for the summer though

Yes, agreed. To take the other side of this, I'm not sure we were going to find any other places that would have them. But ultimately the end result is they are off the wage bill for at least a few months - and also out of the dressing room.

I am tad bit disappointed here. It was pretty clear at the start of the window a RWB and a creative mid would be priority. Then we went behind Adama because Conte was "ready to convert him to RWB", then suddenly "Conte isn't convinced about Adama" and the deal collapses. Then I thought there could be other options better than Adama that we might be exploring. And suddenly that front went quiet entirely. Then we signed a defensive CM and a right winger. It feels more like the priority was always to shift the three CMs conte didn't want and fill that space vacated by them. Rather than fill the pre-existing space in RWB, Creative CM and backup CF.

I agree with all that except I'm not sure what the priority really was, which seemed to jump around a lot depending on who was available. But we're playing a long game (within Conte's 1.5 year contract!).

Read something about him being a vehement anti-vaxxer so I've gone off him quite a bit. Think some clubs might have done so too.
This is true. They pretty much had to sell him as his exemption from vaccination due to recovering from covid was due to expire and he wouldn't have been able to travel/stay with the rest of the team.

I mean to end up at Burnley kind of says everything.

Anyone who watched the Morcambe game knows that we were getting fuck all value from Dele, Gio or Ndombele.

Sure, our bench is a bit short, but when the above are offering nothing, we may as well save £400k+ per week and sit White, Scarlett, Devine and Paskotsi on the bench.

It’s not ideal and we should still be looking for further signings IMO, but it was no reason not to let those players go.

In a headcount emergency I’m assuming any one of Gil, Clarke, CCV, John or Etete could be recalled.

Wonder does shifting Ali open up the possibility for one more, looks like Everton taking Dele, great club for stumping up silly money, they have form fir similar, paid silly money for Iwobi too

It's true, no virus can withstand the temperatures of Burnley.

Can they be registered whenever though?

Certainly indicates we won't be signing another to replace them.

Pretty weird that we're going to have to make a top 4 charge with White regularly on the bench but oh well.
Doubtful, he's essentially 5th choice. If we pick up 2 injuries in cm I think we would go 343 and he would be on the bench. Other than that depends on injuries elsewhere whether he fills the bench.

Don’t do it to yourselves - trix has already said we’re done.
Herc hasn’t yet.. ? A bit of pace / goals, and / or a transitional box to box midfielder would make everyone breath a bit easier I think. 4 out and 2 in seems a bit of a miss match, considering Conte said he wanted more numbers in.

Oh please no. Personally I think Sanchez should be fitted with an anklet that gives him an electric shock whenever he strays on to the left side of the pitch. He literally can't stand up whenever he has to activate his left foot.
To be fair looked ok against Chelsea there but that was a central 2. Maybe he was at his limit to how far left he can stray
