What I liked so much about that was the reaction to the mistakes. They are humans, they will make mistakes. To expect otherwise is insanity. As in life, we all make mistakes. It's how we react to them that defines us, not that we made the mistake in the first place.

Sess was a bit sloppy for that subsequent Lloris head rush but then he sprinted back to the goal line and Davies' recovery was fantastic.
Davies where it went under his foot made sure that raph (?) didnt get past him and took a yellow.

Much better today. But I don't really think we learn much about our players when facing Leeds. Leeds just gives everyone so much space to operate in.

You know what Leeds are going to do, high press and man mark across the pitch, they're not doing it very well at the moment, and we just played it perfectly and on the general play obliterated them really. Dragged them about the pitch torridly and made use of all the space, especially in behind.

This is definitely a game that played to our strengths/comforts, and we need to find a way to be better against more obdurate compact teams (plus sort our consistency in general...), but you can only beat what is in front of you and we did that comprehensively today, and hopefully it gives some players a confidence boost - Sessegnon especially, who I'd say for the first time today in his Spurs career showed glimpses of belief and that he looked like he was enjoying himself a bit and didn't play like a timid boy.

Also, I can go and enjoy the rest of my weekend now. Happy days indeed.

What was lloris thinking diving out with his hands outside the box? If ball hit his hands that's a straight red

As I've said repeatedly, we're a different team when afforded space like today, versus games where the opposition are compact and the onus in on to break them down.

Leeds' extreme man-marking high press is risky as fuck at the best of times, isn't working for them at the moment as the table shows, and we've said thank you very much and taken full advantage. Dragging them in and then knocking it for runners in behind.

Whilst you can't control all of the 90 mins and not expect the opposition to have their spells, that last 10-15 mins though did show a bit of a problem with us I thought. It seems with us that it's not one or two aspects that start to break down, we have a habit where across the board we just start to fall off it. Runners not being tracked, lose defensive shape, silly freekicks given away to elongate the pressure, passes going astray, stop competing up top and the ball comes straight back at us.... etc etc etc. Everyone collectively seems to take a little dip all at once, we need to stamp that out.

Hopefully that little spell is a kick up the backside and we regain the focus and control after the break. Get the ball down, expose their weaknesses, and see more like that clinical first half hour.

I must say I look out for your match analysis posts as they're always inciteful and spot on. Bang on again.

In isolation 6 points from 9 away games in 8 days is actually decent, especially when City have been one of those games.

Now we need to make some of these home games count.
9 away games in 8 days is crazy. Something needs to be done about these schedules.

Nah I think the desire to defend at 0-3 and 0-4 should be applauded. Davies didn't have to get back to block the open goal, but he did.

I also think we controlled that second half for the most part with possession and when we decided to go on the attack we did with devastating effects.

Harry is becoming the best player in the world. Not a player in world football I'd rather have in the team

Few months back there were posts from prominent fans who didn't want him to play for us ever again, said they would never cheer him on again and encouraged this. Looking really stooopid now.

Great result. But it's Leeds. Now back it up against Boro and Everton, because they wont be so obliging.

Clean sheet! COYS

I don't think them not wanting him to play for us again was based on ability though was it? It was the way the summer unfolded. Can't blame them for it. Kane now, however, looks to be back to working has socks off and playing for the team.
