Also, I'd like to point out that he might be not playing his best at Citeh because he is no where near the main man.

Here he could be the focal point of the attack and he'd revel in it imo.

He wouldn't be though, he would not come in and instantly be our main man.

that looks pretty fecking lethal to me, he'd be in heaven with the service he'd get

I don't know why anyone would say no

Even though it has been explained dozens of times in this thread:shrug:

Okay, ignoring all of the other issues that make some Spurs fans wary of the effect his personality and attitudes will have on our dressing room/ tam spirit, consider this: he spent a whole season at Arsescum VISIBLY not trying because he didn't get his way. And that doesn't bother you at all:duh:

Look, I personally have read, and make (what I think is fair) comment on all of the posts stating that he IS a good player and he WOULD thrive on the service our team creates (although the latter is debatable). Don't you think it would show that you know hw to discuss maturely, and just show some common curtesy, if you could just acknowledge that actually you do understand exactly why so many Spurs fans are so wary of his impact on the dressing room/team spirit (even if you don't agree with it), rather than keeping on repeating that you don't kow how any could object when it has been explained fully so many times:shrug:

I think the wages issue is not a problem. The players at Citeh must realise they are earning way more than they deserve and it is almost a cash cow that they can milk for a couple of years before being paid 'normal' wages and struggling by on £60k a week like the rest of us.

I just got paid again, haven't even finished burning last week's £60k, this week I think I'll buy another car and maybe some Elephant's tusks because I can.

You think so? Perhaps Adebayor's own words on the matter of money will put you right:

“It is not true, it is about money,” Adebayor is quoted as telling BBC Africa Sports editor Farayi Mungazi when asked whether it is true when footballers say that playing for a certain club is not about the wages.

“You are talking about in life and it is about money. When we are young, of course we played because we loved the game, we play because we were passionate about the game.

“But now as soon as you reach a stage where you are professional and playing Champions League, after all those things we are talking about money.

“If it is not because of money, what am I going to be playing for Arsenal for? If it is not because of money I don’t think I would go to Arsenal to play. I would stay in my country, I would stay in Lome where everyone loves me.
“If it’s not because of money, I would not have come to Europe.”

Too inconsistent for me. I'm confident Harry could keep his attitude in check but I still feel there is better, more consistent and cheaper options out there.

Whatever it cost to get Torres, undoubted class. Wouldn't touch that sulking Ade.
The next step forward has to be Torres.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it before, but in regard to Adebeyor's attitude being 'sulky' and having the potential to upset the balance weren't all the same things said about signing Gallas? At the moment Gallas could be our best signing this season...

Torres attitude isn't that great either just ask Liverpool fans about his body language... he'll soon be off with Reina now Benitez gone

Robbie Keane's loves a sulk and had a few punch ups with players so for folk going on about harmony within the squad don't get Hutton angry his likely to you and his dad a black eye.

For a reasonable fee Adebayor will definitely improve Spurs on the pitch.

Read my lips: Adebayor stopped trying (visibly) for a whole season at ArseScum because he didn't get his own way. I don't think that applies to ANY of the players you (and those like yu) keep on mentioning.

Answer that directly, please!

Not as far as I am aware.

If Gallas literally and visibly didn't try for a whole season I will eat my words.

I know he said some stupid things. But there is a huge difference between saying some stupid things and not trying on the football field (especially when you get paid that much).

This business about not trying is a load of bull (Berbatov did not try and refused to play for Spurs), its more to do with his Langland style and the new system Wenger adopted at the time going from 442 to 4321 plus Arsenal are TIGHT they put Adebayor on a peddle stall as the successor to Henry but didn't want to pay him the going rate...Ferguson and AC Milan were at the time willing to pay him the going rate but Arsenal played the same game (we are innocent, we picked you from a life of struggle) and sold for the maximum profit like they have always done...Analka etc

Said Arsenal that don't want to pay Ashely Cole what he was worth in the footballing world they now call him Cashley, Said Gallas they did not what to pay they call him Judas, Said Flamini who they needed at the time Arsenal refused to pay him and he left on a free to AC Milan

Players have bust-ups all the time, my personal issue isn't that Adebayor might not have got on with some players.

1) This business about not trying is a load of bull (Berbatov did not try and refused to play for Spurs), its more to do with his Langland style and the new system Wenger adopted at the time going from 442 to 4321 plus Arsenal are TIGHT they put Adebayor on a peddle stall as the successor to Henry but didn't want to pay him the going rate...Ferguson and AC Milan were at the time willing to pay him the going rate but Arsenal played the same game (we are innocent, we picked you from a life of struggle) and sold for the maximum profit like they have always done...Analka etc

.

1) Do you relaly hate the ArseScum SOOOOO much that it makes you this blind:shrug:

2) So, with us, it is a clearly defined wage structure, based on percentage of revenues generated (and rightly so); with the ArseScum it is being tight and not wanting to pay a player 'the going wage'...and there was me thinking it was because Ashley Cole was an odious <CENSOR EVASION> of a man:duh:

MEMO to VIVA: it is a running joke about how FCUKing bling Wenger is:wink:

Wait a minute, this is the same Wenger who after 15 years still hasn't spotted that if his teams get physically bullied, rather than whingeing about how unfair it is, he should devise 'coping startegies'

Playing as the lone striker for a team like ArseScum and starting 38 games for a team that plays the way the Goons do...yeah, I woud expect a player of his ability to score and assist more than that. And, laying aside the stats for a minute, I personally watched full 90 minute games where the Goons were boing him for not trying, and I felt sympathy for them (not something easy to admit:grin:), because he claerly wasn't putting the effort in. And no, I am not talking Dimitar BerbaGit 'languid-style' not trying, I mean VISIBLY not trying - does this not equate with you:shrug:

Look, M8, I have said it above, and I will say it again, I was asked (as we all were) how I felt about the possibility of signing Adebayor. My argument is logical and well-argued. if you don't agree with it, fine. If 'Arry signs him and he performs and doesn't FCUKing ruin our team spirit, great. If 'Arry signs him I will be the first to advocate getting right behind the guy. But, given that our greatest asset at the moment is team-spirit, and based on what I know of Adebayor and what I hve seen with my own eyes, I would be seriously concerned about his impact on the team. This opinion is coloured by the fact that I think there are other options equally viable in a footballing sense, tat would cost less, and would not involve the potential to rip our dressing-room to shreds.

Harry has already stated that his wages are astronomical and that we couldn't pay him anywhere near that amount.
Adebayor doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would take a huge cut in wages.
