You know what, after today's FIFA world cup atrocity I say no way, Hes foreign, I'd rather we buy only homegrown players from now on, Andy Carroll will do if we can get hold of him.

I've no problem with anything he's done really what

- he twatted Bender - good job

- he ****ed off the mong army - good job

- he led a player strike because the Togo FA was crooked as feck - good job

- he didn't fit in at the scum or shity - fuck me and that's a bad thing lol I'd be more worried if he did

Look at a player like Anelka he travelled alot not fitting in but now who wouldn't take him he's a beast too. There's no doubt about it if Harry got him in and made him feel loved along with the fans of course then he'd be one of the best forwards around easily. People are so quick to judge these days without knowing the ins and outs of a situation. Sure Ade has got some bad press but that's mainly because he doesn't take no shit and sticks up for himself. Harry would get the best outta him and we'd be flying.

If he accepts the wages our top earners are on, I'll be fine with it. But I don't want us spending over 15m quid on him. So no.

He would fit in perfect to be fair hes brilliant all round play,i dont have much time for him but if he scores goals what the hell il support him he would be brilliant in the box with Bales and Lennons crosses...

£25 million including wages is about right for us I think.

When his confidence is up he's an awesome player. He destroyed us on countless occasions for Arsenal.

When he plays aggressively, he is a beast that can't be stopped. But over the past few seasons, he's been weak in too many games. Getting pushed around and not even chased the ball down. Crouch outshone (sp?) him at home in the 3-0 last year through his tireless closing down and link-up play. I remember seeing a citeh forum thread saying they'd rather have someone of crouch's ability closing down every week, than adebayor's inconsistency (world class one week, shocking the next) and laziness.

Did adebayor play in the champs league decider? If he did, he was anonymous <--

He's a bit like kaboul in that he has all the physical attributes but needs to sort out the mental side of things.

Is he though? He can't get a sniff at Man City, and I don't think that Mancini is a complete mug. He's also on three times the wages of Bale, more than double Modric's, and in the light of financial fair play, a real liability to our closest on-pitch rival.
He really is.

I felt compelled to post in this thread again.

The more I think about it, the more excited I am about the thought of Adebayor in Spurs colours. For so many reasons - firstly, and far and away the most important, the fact that I'm convinced he'll score for fun.

Imagine it, a top class finisher, with service from all parts of the midfield.

He can head, so he can get onto Lennon's crosses;
He's got good positioning, so he can put himself in place to convert Bale's;
He's quick, so he can stretch defenders to open up space;
He's strong, so he can hold off defenders and hold up the ball or have a pop himself;

It makes sense on so many levels.

Think it through guys: if there's one manager who can rein his ego in and get the best out of him, surely it has to Redknapp. And if that's the case, wouldn't all of the above be top notch reasons for signing him?

OK, pricewise, it may be a bit on the expensive side, but you know what they say - 'you pay peanuts, you get monkeys'. Strikers are, and always will be, expensive.

And wages may be a problem, but then Gallas took a wage cut. Who's to say that Adebayor wouldn't do the same?

Seriously, if I could pick one transfer in January, Adebayor would be it.

A far less important reason (but one with a sweetness to it) is this: imagine how the Scum would react to see the weapon they used so effectively against us turned to our advantage. It wouldn't matter a huge deal, if at all, but wouldn't it be nice?

Kaboul Gallas King Ekotto
Lennon Hudd Modric Bale
----------VDV
--------Adebayor

that looks pretty fecking lethal to me, he'd be in heaven with the service he'd get

I don't know why anyone would say no

Still reasonably young too, so a striker who could grow alongside Bale, Lennon, Luka etc.

I wouldnt be against him joining as I think it would benefit Spurs - I'd just have to block out the memory of that stupid little dance he did with Henry out of my mind and keep thinking about him running and sliding in front of the Scum fans.

City still wont sell to us, but it's a decent idea

What the hell do we pay Redknapp a few million pounds a few for? It is to use his man-management skills to get the best out of players. Wenger is a very good manager, but as soon as he has personal problems with players, he turns away from the issues and usually jettisons them. Mancini obviously doesn't fancy Adebayor, Harry could get inside his head and motivate him, that I am sure of.

Kanu had a lot of respect of Harry Redknapp, Adebayor worshiped the ground Kanu walked on. Already there's a psychological advantage in Redknapps favour.

We can hate him because regardless of the team he did it to his actions after scoring against ar5ena1 were unforgivable. For him to show the manager & team that made him that much disrespect is indefensible and was one of the worst actions by a player I can remember, stamping on rvp?! Shocking and I think theres a lot of people who can put aside the rivalry & empathise with them because if one of our lot did it our fans would feel so let down & disgusted.

I can forget the fact he played for that lot but what I'd never be able to forget is his actions which showed his character & personality & that's why I don't want him anywhere near our club

Adebayor is a great player, the exact sort we need with one huge caviet. He is only that player maybe 5 days in a season.

How anyone could justify paying anywhere near £25 million for him or the £160,000 a week wages is beyond me

The celebration was disgusting as it could have led to a pitch invasion and people getting seriously hurt. He is a very lucky boy his previous club was Arsenal and not West Ham or Millwall as we could be talking about how his stupidity caused the death of someone.

I think the wages issue is not a problem. The players at Citeh must realise they are earning way more than they deserve and it is almost a cash cow that they can milk for a couple of years before being paid 'normal' wages and struggling by on £60k a week like the rest of us.

I just got paid again, haven't even finished burning last week's £60k, this week I think I'll buy another car and maybe some Elephant's tusks because I can.

Also, I'd like to point out that he might be not playing his best at Citeh because he is no where near the main man.

Here he could be the focal point of the attack and he'd revel in it imo.
