A year with Ajax would be a great opportunity for any young player.
I think fullbacks coming out of the Dutch league generally transition very well. Good split between being a big part of the attack, but also having to shut down tricky wingers that every team plays with.I wonder if the Dutch league would be of a good enough standard to benefit him. The worst move though would be to loan him to Fulham. He has already had a year in the Premier League with them and would never get out of his comfort zone. Pointless.
The Dutch league has been a great breeding ground for young players who have gone on to be successful in other leagues. Our very own Vertonghen, Alderweireld and Sanchez came from Ajax, Bergwijn has settled in quickly from PSV, and de Jong and de Ligt have made big moves at young ages too. If we are considering loaning Sess out, then playing regularly for Ajax including champions league, could work well for him and us.I wonder if the Dutch league would be of a good enough standard to benefit him.
