Paper BS ... the guy is no way better than we have already, he is lazy, doesnt work hard for the team, a bit of pace and plethora of steps over, a dodgy head band and only about 10% successful in regards to end product of from crosses /final ball / no decison making ability... not at all what we need ... anyway its paper bs ... If this is what jose is looking at for us which i believe is not the case, but if he were he would need to be escorted out from us asap...

So can we put you down as a ‘No’?

He’s going to be a top player in the Premier League in a few years...I can see quite a bit similarity with Mane when he first came

Maybe my favourite player in the league right now. Certainly not the best, but so damn fun to watch.

Would love us to sign him but struggle to see us paying whatever Newcastle would want (especially if the takeover goes ahead) when we have Lucas, Son and just bought Bergwijn.

Makes 0 sense to me this one.

I see a bit of Traore of 18 months ago. Not quite the same body shape but the acceleration and beating players for fun but at the moment not so much at the end of it.

He's already 23 and his numbers in terms of goals and assists aren't that good. He's fun to watch, but I don't think he's on a trajectory to a be a top player.

We've seen this type of player so many time before in the Prem. He's similar to Zaha, but I think the best comparison is actually Stephanne Sessegnon, when he was at Sunderland. He was brilliant to watch and for a while was spoken about as a huge money transfer to a CL club. But ultimately, he didn't actually score or assist that many. Newcastle actually scored more goals last season without Maxim in their attack. So while he's clearly key to most of what they do going forward and causes so many problems, maybe their alternative way of attacking, without him at the hub, was actually better.

What I like about Eberechi Eze, is that whilst he has that same exciting style, in which he can take 2 or 3 players out of the game and cause a real panic, he also seems to have a final ball. Eze's passing and shooting is actually technically very good. I'd rather buy him, than either Maxim or Zaha.

Dad thought he was very good when he watched the Newcastle spurs game and he is a right hard fucker to please.

So on that basis I’m all for getting him!

He didn’t create a lot against us but when he had the ball we swarmed him which nullified most of his attacking play. I’d say he’s Newcastle’s best player by a long shot. Now add him to a better team like us and he will flourish as when you’ve players like Kane and Son playing as well the opposition can’t look to crowd him out as that would mean leaving Kane and Son to run riot. The more quality players a team has the harder it is to man or double mark individuals. It’s why Liverpool, City and Manure are ruthless going forward.

The sort of player we should have signed before Newcastle did and not now when he’s going to be valued at 3 times over the amount they paid.

He's amazing. Like has been said way out of our price range now. I love watching him play though.

I feel kind of naughty for daring to think like this, but I really rate Shelvey and would love us to sign him. I know he's supposedly a bit of a dick and is one paced, but I've always thought he's kind of a brilliant player. I think he's their best player and would create so much from deep positions for us and would give us a totally different dimension to our play. It would never happen and I know most people think he's average and don't like him as a person, but if we were to sign him, I for one, would be really happy about it.

Inconsistent though. He was hugely rated early on. On his day he is amazing but he is at newcastle for a reason.

The way I see it, is that Jose loves organisation at the back and to transition quickly for the counter attack. It seems to be our main way of playing and we are doing pretty well with it, despite very little productive coming from Winks and Sissoko. Son and Ali love balls over the top. Shelvey is the master of transitioning from defence to attack with one pass. I'd take him over Winks or Sissoko any day of the week and think he'd make us terrifying on the counter. It'll never happen as he's not the profile of player we'd be looking at, given his age and attitude problems. But I think he's perfect for our team.

Bergwijn is more talented. He’s fast and flashy, but has end product akin to Andros Townsend atm

I'm sure there's a much cheaper Clinton or GKN alike in France somewhere. Maybe we could just buy one of those back, now I think of it.
