Perhaps it will end when people remember GDS is a kid and Modric isn't a number 10. We create NOTHING. Bent and Arshavin are proven goalscorers but some **** has to give them the fucking ball.

That would have to be one hell of a ball to get it to Arshavin...

Spurs' interest in Arshavin was one of the longest-running sagas of the transfer window, with a deal for the Zenit St Petersburg playmaker eventually falling through.
Arshavin had seemed keen to seal a move to White Hart Lane but now his representative Dennis Lachter claims he will now only consider a move to Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea.
"Andrei would like to play in the Premier League but he will not accept an offer from clubs like Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa," Lachter told the Daily Telegraph - suggesting that even Manchester City's new-found wealth may not be enough to lure his client.
"There are only four British clubs he would play for and they are in the Champions League. It's not about money, it's about a team and professional ambition."
Lachter insisted that talks are ongoing with a number of clubs at the moment.
"Zenit is negotiating with several clubs. We are now waiting for a phone call from Zenit president Alexander Dyukov to allow us to negotiate his personal terms with one of them. It's most likely he will be heading for England," he continued.
"It's going to be a very big transfer. Zenit will definitely not accept an offer of less than 30million euros (£23.8m). They are owned by Gazprom, who are one of the biggest oil companies in the world, so they can afford not to sell him cheaply."

Can't say I blame him to be honest. We're a joke at the moment.

I think we wasted too much time trying to sign him when ZSP had no real intention of selling. Add that to the time Levy wasting squeezing every last penny out of Utd (all no doubt recoup from our lower league finish as a result) and it is these futile efforts and no real signings in that same time which has left us where we are.

I don't actually blame Levy for screwing United—and it was pretty late in the day before they put in a genuine bid in any case.

It was also pretty obvious that Pav would go to the wire. Did we put all our eggs in those two baskets at Ramos' insistence? I can't think of another explanation, to be honest. I wonder if at some point Levy didn't say to him, 'Look, we can get Milito and Garcia now. They might not be as good but at least you'll have time to work with them.'

He wants 5 English 'fans' of Zenith to participate in a 5 a side tournament all expenses paid by Zenith. That is what the fuck he was talking about.

You are almost wright, General. Save for it's 8 a side game with 8 substitutes. I need 3-4 English players.

Possibly, I suppose only those who know the true set up of our transfer policy can answer that.

I would have thought there were numerous options avaible to us still. Depends if it was Ramos or Comolli who ultimately chose the targets (I would have assumed input from each)

And ostrov i am 18 years of age and i get paid to play football (only 100 pounds a game) semi professional.

You will not be paid to play. You will have an honour to play for Z.EU SUPPORT and visit St Petersburg for free.

We'll never know whether it was Levy, Comolli or Ramos who are responsible for our woeful transfer window with regards to strikers. Frankly, I don't care too much. They are collectively responsible and collectively to blame.

He was great against real the other night too, should have scored, but even so, he just looks majestic on the ball.

Yes, yes it can get worse.

Howzabout this..........

He signs for Liverpool and sets up Keano for the goal that sends us down

He signs for Manure and sets up Berbs for the goal that sends us down

He signs for the Scum and dribbles round the entire "team" twice in injury time before backheeling the ball in and sending us down.

even if it's old quotes, it would be hard to temp him now with our current position. He wanted us because Ramos and our ambitions. I hope i'm wrong.

The situation about Keane replacement is clear, but we can't blame Levy for selling Berbatov for many reasons: The player behaviour isn't good for the while tem, Fee is very big for 27 years and 9 months plus decent option on loan whatever after failing to get other targets. We paid the price for our first two games but then we signed Pavel, he didn't play enough games and he needs time, even yesterday he could score with his head like Berba if played more mins.

The only bad thing in transfer window, we didn't sign Arshavin ( Keane replacement ) .. and while Giovani wasn't used enough, i would say Giovani is RK replacement until Jan.

so we need more time and I'm sure we will be better soon.

Hopefully we've already agreed a deal for him to join in Jan. If we were indeed close to getting him during the summer window this may not be too far fetched.

Hasn't anybody realised that the only reason he was talking to us at all was because no top clubs were interested in him.
He is a terrific player and he will be terrific for us but Chelsea Man utd & Liverpool wouldn't play him and arsenal won't buy him because a) he is too expensive & b) because he is 28 and not available on a free.

What that tells us is that after the champions league placed teams we are the next choice if a player wants to come to England.

No, it means that we (and possibly Newcastle) are the only team in the top flight prepared to spend that kind of money on a 28-year-old who has underwhelmed for most of his career and who wants a massive payday.

I'm going to disagree with you on this. He's played in the Russian league for a club that only recently began to get noticed because of their UEFA Cup run last season. He's been under the radar for awhile until Dick Advocaat took over. He is 28 but he's playing very well right now and is at the top of his game. He wouldn't be one to watch but one for now. Also if he wanted a massive payday, he would stay at Zenit because Gazpro would be able to afford him big wages if they chose to. They haven't signed him to a new contract and would probably let him leave after the season because they have Danny Miguel who could also do the same role.

As far as the top 4 teams are concerned:
Man Utd - they have Rooney and Tevez in similar role
Liverpool - will Hicks and Gillette cough up any cash in Jan?
Arsenal - they have publicy stated they no longer have interest plus they have numerous players who play same role. They need a DM not a supporting striker
Chelsea - they have Deco, Joe Cole...would they need Arshavin?
