There is no way we are getting him now. Zero chance. We, my friends, are no longer any player worth his salt wants to join. Why would he? We are not going to offer huge amounts of money to him and all we can offer him is a relegation battle. He is 28 and CL football is years away from us. No chance. Well done Comolli u f*cking tit.

What we need now is another Davids. An experienced leader who is looking for one last challenge and knows how to deal with this type of situation. I dont think Arshavin's that man.

I agree that should be our first priority...hopefully at DM position. None come to my mind though.
Arshavin would be a good second priority. What we missed against Hull was the killer through ball that he specializes in. We've, hopefully, done all the heavy lifting in terms of the transfer and can close the deal before he gets courted by Citeh.

Sure, sure! I can see this conversation right now:

Arshavin: So, Roman, how's Spurs?

Pav: Oh great, great! We're bottom of the league, I dont speak any English so I cant communicate to anybody, I'm struggling to perform and score goals, and some of the fans already hate me, but apart from that I'm having a whaaaaale of a time!

Arshavin: Hmmm. Aston Villa it is then...

You are almost wright, General. Save for it's 8 a side game with 8 substitutes. I need 3-4 English players.

I've read about this fans' cup thing before. They've had 2 so far, haven't they? How many teams have talken part so far? From around the world? Why do you need 3-4 English players? I take it the organisers would realise that they're not Zenit fans? :)

Or maybe we've already done a deal.

Wishful thinking, I'd love for you to be right but if the deal isn't done he's gonna take one look at us and think himself lucky he had a close escape.

tbh arshavin at the moment is the kind of player we need to help get the best out of Pav and Bent.

At the moment, no-one is doing the link role that keano and berbatov could do so well off dropping into the 'hole' between midfield and attack. People say we have Gio and Modric, but this is not what they do, Modric is more of a 'pull the strings' in the middle of the park kind of player who can make things happen (on form) & Giovani is a nifty quick footed and pacy player who will run at defenders - neither will help supply balls, or run onto flick on's from an out and out striker (pav/bent).

We also need a top notch DMF who can play in a 4-4-2 and allow his counterpart to get forward and influence the game, someone much like carrick who is disciplined enough to sit in front of the back four the whole game, pick the ball up from them and spray it around, passing and recieving. Also with the ability to read the game well, track back, fill positions when players move up the pitch etc.. - Id rather see someone like Xabi Alonso then a Veloso or hard man player.

Also a top notch Center Back who can partner Woodgate or Corluka week in and out.

But knowing spurs, come january, we will sign another out and out striker & another left back.

I have a horrible feeling that a certain other North London team will sign him in January.... If they do I don't know what the hell I'd do but I would definetly be fuming with Levy!!!!

There is no way Arsenal would spend £23million on an unproven* Russian 28 year old.

*unproven in the EPL.

Unlikely they will pay 30 ml euros for 27 years old.

I want to make something perfectly clear, there is no longer any chance of Arshavin signing for Spurs. It is very unlikely that Spurs will even be in the Uefa Cup next season now, so it is not a move that will progress his career. I think he is absolutely tailor made for Chelsea, they should of signed him in the summer in my opinion. Imagine a midfield of Essien Lampard and Deco with J.Cole and Arshavin behind Drogba, plus with the two full backs playing like wingers Chelsea would be incredible.
