We need to capitalise on this before brightons confidence increases and we end up shooting our selves in the foot …

Very good 30 mins but then they got on top, sess struggling slightly on the left but perisic will come on eventually.
Main downside is how long we leave bissouma on the pitch with a yellow.

Did alright for 20-25 mins. Then Brighton attached their bollocks and stepped up the pitch, zipped a couple of moves together, we immediately shat our pants and retreated to our own third, and haven't really got out of there since. We're also starting to look a bit weary I say.

Got to step back on it second half, continue like that and only trouble lies ahead.

ref is a joke - why do we always get these duds who are happy to pull out cards against our players for nothing fouls but expect the opposition to actually murder one of our players before they will pull out a card. we need another goal & i think we can get it as brighton push on to equalise - just need to take the chance when it comes

Only we can get dominated playing 352 vs 343... maybe try 361... I know conte is top level but if Spence is nowhere near doc or royal the club may as well bought me because they are both shocking

Better from us, and as expected a very competitive game as Brighton are showing they're a very good side.

We were really good in the first 25 mins. Once we scored we were too passive. Their number 10 is getting acres of space in between the lines. I'd put Skipp on for Bissouma (who again picked up a stupid yellow card). Doherty looks very fit it a little rusty with his touch. His run behind early on was brilliant but he never got his head up as he was focussing on scoring as he thought he was in. Simple cross and tap in for Sessegnon missed. We need to push up more and suffocate them in their half.

Hojberg and Benta looked tired towards the end. Our execution started to go and players wanted too much time on the ball. Need to get the wing backs up the pitch.
I know it won’t happen but crying out for spence pace and power to help carry and join attacks

It was a good half between two good sides playing well. It took Brighton about 20 minutes to get to grips with our extra midfielder, but once they worked out how to bypass our press, they gradually took over possession and made more chances. Conte needs to tweak a few things to get some control back, because we stopped making chances in the last 15 minutes.

Brighton are good, aren't they. So are we for a change. The Bissouma situation is my only real concern. He's on a yellow, his confidence is low and he's not playing well at all. No way Conte subs him off at HT though
Oh yeah Brighton are mustard. Absolute different gravy. Mustard Gravy. :playful:

I prefer 3 in midfield but ideally we would have a creative playmaker in the three who can carry the ball forward and dictate. I feel PEH, Biss and Ben isn’t a great balance. But I fully appreciate that we aren’t built for it
Calling out for a player like Maddison!!

He is playing ok.
A few good quick balls out from the danger areas and taking up good positions.

I do think he needs to watch for runners a bit more

Although the ref is giving nothing, our players need to play to the whistle. Go down, but when it's obvious its not coming they need to get back up and get in defence. A couple of times they've been very slow at getting up as play went on and it left the team short. Obviously when not carrying a knock. Irritating.
