Tough one to take. If it didn’t make it 4 out of 5 losses, and if we hadn’t just beat City, then I would’ve been more inclined to call it just one of those days. It’s not unusual to lose 1-0 at Burnley on a night like tonight weather-wise, and on another day one of our chances goes in and all that…

Forget top 4, we're not even in the race for it. Since the turn of the year we must be the worst team in the league, or very close to it.
Yeah we're just not good enough unfortunately, i think we'll actually finish somewhere between 8th and 10th

Kulusevski at RWB didnt work at all...not because Kulusevski was bad....but Lucas Moura when he came on , was fucking awful.
Lucas did absolutely nothing except spank a great chance to row z
Lucas performance have been so so bland now whenever he plays. Not helpful at all. Just got a feeling he's no longer in it now but putting in the bare minimum effort.

Look people are going to go into meltdown like I have with my job but with spurs I somehow see the positives.

A) Shame we didn't play them when they didn't have tarkowski as originally scheduled
B) we did dominate the 2nd half. C) Definitely seen an improvement in our attacking play moving the ball quicker
D) Kulusevski looks like a smart player even if it didn't quite come off today for him, if you don't agree I think you'd agree he's an upgrade or nice option to have instead of Lucas
E) We still have Kane who is a class above

But yeah top 4 is a longshot

It was just a typical game against Burnley/Stoke on a soaking wet night away.

Even our best teams in our best seasons over the last ten years have struggled on such occasions. People shouldn’t pin their hopes on single games like this, and I don’t think it’s indicative of where our team is at right now.

This was entirely expected and anyone who thought otherwise, and is now outraged as a result hasn’t been paying attention to Spurs or Football as a whole over the last few decades.
That was only our second loss at Burnley in the last decade in all competitions

Spursy at it's finest let the banter reign on us again! When I saw Winks on for 2nd half sensed doom! God knows what Sessegnon was doing with that challenge on Lennon. From that a bread and butter set peice played right into their hands. The conditions were perfect for them and as usual we crumbled. Got to hand it to Burnley they look like they have all the qualities to survive. Weghorst what a signing and at £12 mill a snip.

For us one step forward and several back tonight FA Cup the glimmer of light as for CL that light has been extinguished tonight.

Interesting that you name Winks (who was fine actually) and Sess for giving away the freekick - but you don't name Romero who, if his name was Sanchez, would RIGHTLY be getting a fearful hiding from this thread for being at fault for the goal.

I get it - we all love Romero and he's class but he was at fault for the goal and wasn't great for their other big chance either.

If you're gonna hate share it!

Kane is reportedly waiting until the summer to make his decision on a new contract and Conte may have had enough by the end of the season.

How is it that much out of the realm of possibility?
Did you listen to Conte's interview YESTERDAY?

Or any he's given since he's been here?

PATIENCE.

I expect him to want to turn this around and build something serious. If he's not backed, of course it'll get rough but I don't see that happening. He was praising FP, yesterday.

This constant fear amongst our fans is pissing me off. Sorry

I’ll be eternally grateful for the those goals in the Champions League but in general he’s been a total fraud Imvho.

Top 4 is gone.. Let’s see if we can sneak into the Europa League places- I think top 6 is possible, and we’ve still got the FA Cup to play for. But as far as Conte is concerned it’s all about next season now.

I choose to believe in Conte and that we will come right

I’m not sure Jesus Christ could get us right to be honest, he can turn water into wine and part the Red Sea but turn spurs into a trophy winning team? He has his limitations

The problem is that Man City was the reaction. They reacted to the Southampton and Wolves games and played one of the matches of their careers against arguably one of the best teams in the world. Then they just switched off. It's not that they don't have professional pride, it's that they can't keep their heads. They're all over the place mentally. So yeah, I'd fully expect another reaction on Saturday. Up, down, up, down.

We need a
I’ve said for a while I think we’re desperate for a proper sports psychology program at Tottenham. There’s very clear, glaring deficiencies in terms of confidence, attitude and focus and has been for a long, long time.
