Chadli - Can he be Kane's back up within the squad ?

For the love of Spurs

Most under-rated player in our squad right now (by the fans)

I think the reason is he can be a bit frustrating, we play a high intesnsity high pressing system and he in some games appears lethargic.

That being said he is class in front of goal and we need goal scorers. His physical strength, finishing and hold up play he actually seems to have a skill set more that of a striker than a wide forward or winger. Personally I think he is more suited to that role than Son or Niji because of his game but time will tell.

We do not play with 1 up front as a striker!
We play with a front 4 who interchange positions.

I will admit we miss Kane when he's not on the pitch as was seen yesterday with Trippier's excellent crosses. Although he was there for 1 at least and fluffed the chance as he saw it late.

No

Totally anonymous up top on his own. Doesn't work hard enough. Not good enough in the air and cannot hold the ball up. He's done it on a few occassions for brief periods in games for us and has been shocking

Like Mido on a very very poor day. Nowhere near good enough for what we need as back up to HK if we want to win games without H
Thats a good joke mate. But shouldnt this be in the joke thread? Chadli is mido on a very very poor day? Hahahahahh.......good joke.

Yes we miss Kane when he's not on the pitch, except that he was yesterday and even without him scoring we scored 4, Chadli scored 2, 1 was a header from a Tripper cross..

Ive always liked Chadli and could never understand the criticism hes faced ever since hes been here. IMO hes one of the most skilful players in our squad, knows where to find the net, good with both feet, and probably our best player when it coems to shooting while on the run.

Im glad hes back to full futness and back scoring for fun. Go on Chadders.

No, sorry. He's a very good option from the bench when winning but he wouldn't be good upfront alone starting. He's a really lazy player who doesn't offer Kane's work rate. He's found his best position and I'd be disappointed if we changed that

Agree with this. This is why I don't like Chadli because he is one of the laziest players in our team, also as a winger he's pretty predictable. That having said he does have positive attributes like his strength, finishing and positioning. I think him and Son could both do a job filling in up front against say a bottom half PL team we should get by as we did at home to a weak Monaco side and away to a 2nd string Leicester side BUT if Kane is out for a long period of time and in a crucial game against a top4 side or in the latter stages of one of the cups you expect us to win with Chadli or Son up front I think you'll be dissapointed and this could make the difference between us winning something and not this year.

Absolutely not. A goalscoring midfielder (and he's hardly prolific) is not a centre forward. He lacks the pace, power and positional sense. We have been bloody lucky with Kane, but we (and England) are in danger of running him into the ground.

How the hell is Chadli predictable? He can use both feet and his head comfortably, he can actually beat a player and is very clinical in front of goal. We've had too many games where we've dominated but not been able to score in a brothel so having someone of his calibre in the front 4 (or 1) is invaluable.

For all those lovely fellow supporters out there giving me all those lovely comments we are talking about Chadli as a loan striker trying to cover Kane, OK?

Chadli playing in his more natural position is a completely different footballer with terrific skill who's a fantastic finisher

I'm talking about the Nasser Chadli I watched at QPR last season trying to cover for Kane up top who was absolutely fucking useless

Carry on...

Your opinion may carry more weight if you could at least get his name right.

Haha no mate I ACTUALLY reply to the original thread of this post

Could Chadli replace Hugo Lloris in goal. Yes of course he could he's the most underrated player in a squad blah blah blah blah blah blah

I actually GO and watch games unlike most who watch through a 44' screen whilst reading, checking their phones, sticking the Kettle on etc etc. A completely different thing.....

Mind you I never ever see the last 15mins of games as I have to beat the rush at the end so I can get home in time to watch it again on the TV!!

Poch doesn't seem to think he's good enough for this role, otherwise he wouldn't have started Kane against bloody Colchester.

That's the thing I'm really struggling with at the moment. Poch's actions and team selections do not back up his words.

I wouldn't touch Berahino with the longest, of long barge poles. I see nothing but trouble in that players attitude.

Chadli would not be a 'loan striker' as he's already at Spurs.

Kane is played as a 'lone striker' , but as he drops into central midfield and onto the wings too, other players often drift into the central zone in front of goal, one of those being - one of those being Nacer Chadli.

Just thought you might like to know

If he'd cost more when we bought him he'd be more highly thought of.
