I don't know how many times this needs to be said dude, Joe Lewis and his Company are an investment company. This is not a plaything. He will never plough millions of his own money into the club. It's not what he is about.
Didn't know that

I firmly believe we have a quality squad with many players from whom we have yet to see their full potential and players who have individually shown great form this season. We also have a healthy mix of experience and youth and over the last two seasons particularly we have seen Development Squad players move up to the First Team and put in promising performances.

Doesn't really sound as if he is going to invest too much on new players this summer.

I think we just need two. Striker and Left Back.

As long as Levy is not auctioning off our best players again then I'd rather he just focused on finding and supporting a man who can coach the obvious quality out of the players we have and blend them into a team!

Levy's remarks back up the belief that AVB probably walked.

Can't argue with anything he's said in the statement, lets hope the next manager is the right one for us.

The words we shall look for a new level of commitment from all. Damning words on a squad and players he obviously, like us think have under performed and at times not given a shit. I wonder if this has any suggestion into who the new manager will be. He wanted LVG, i imagine one reason for this is hes a tough manager, wont take shit from the players. Im not sure FDB or Pochettino fit into that roll. Benitez on the other hand may

Agree, but the BSoM will soon be out in force to go against that thought process :)

We don't need to invest too much. I'd be more than happy if we only sign a quality left back and centre half who's a vocal! We have no leaders on the pitch. (Before anyone says Dawson... He's S***). Look at Chelsea's defence. Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic etc etc. They all shout and scream at each other to make sure you're switched on, focused and also picking up your player from a set piece. Our lot are all muted and look to pass on the blame to the nearest player.

It amazes me after what? 13 years of enic? That the penny hasn't dropped for so many. If enic had any intention of investing bit would of been the summer after we'd been in cl and the jan Spanish wheelbarrow bolloxs. Instead we sacrificed the first 2 games to save wages on parker and ade

Strange though isn't it? He's 77 years old, he can't take his money with him. If that was me, and I was worth £2 billion I'd plough £150 million into the club for transfers. I'd want to try and win the Premiership title before I died.

Although I probably answered my own question. Being tight with the purse strings is probably the reason Joe Lewis is worth £2 billion, and I'm worth £2 grand.

No support for Tim in the statement at least
Well he can hardly put "I put Tim in place to be my fall guy for everything else that happened this season and take any flack away from myself. Lets win on Sunday but make sure you put all negativity on to Tim then I will boot him and get the negativity from all out the club"

What exactly did you expect DL?

If thats the case you should of stuck with AVB, as you seriously couldnt of expected anything more than a transitional season with so many changes!!!

Too trigger happy for me, doesnt matter who the next manager is, he wont last long!!
I think AVB walked to be fair. This statement supports that to an extent by saying we were forced to change management. Look back at the official statement when Avb left, quite different to all the others that were actually sacked. It's only the media that say he was sacked. Official line was mutual consent, but I think levy didn't have a choice personally.

He could be putting a different slant on it to cover his arse but it is interesting how he mentioned that they were forced into the decision. Maybe AVB was alienating certain people at the club or some of the players? I still wonder how a man as supposedly intelligent as Levy took the decision to sack a qualified competent coach and replace him with Sherwood. Surely he'd have known it would be very difficult to lure any one else into the position mid-season. Even so, he still made the mistake of not going for Hoddle instead.

Should of read: lol

Our challenge now is to rip through as many managers as possible until we find that special person who can bring back the glory years. Next season I will strive to act more decisively and ultimately more swiftly. My commitment to be ruthless and impatient holds no bounds, and I trust you, the fans and lifeblood of this Club, will continue to demonstrate patience whilst I peruse any contractual stipulations that pertain to compensation/severance pay that I entered into.

These issues can be complex and can include ownership issues regarding certain players, for instance Nabil Bentaleb is now owned by Mr Sherwood and that's the entirety of the severance package I successfully negotiated for this great Club. Ownership is effective immediately and we wish Nabil and, well Just Nabil all the best for the future. At time of wrighting, I sit in my plush new office gazing out into the car park and I can see Tim Sherwood loading Bentaleb into his boot. I trust this is the reassurance you all seek, and it closes a chapter that I myself have struggled to come to terms with.

I realise my judgement is now under the spotlight but I reiterate that I'm committed to finding that special person and I'm prepared to make six appointments a season if that's what it takes.

I concede I got it wrong appointing Tim Sherwood but I ask you to understand that he was very persuasive and with hindsight, incredibly manipulative. He would compliment my hair, or lack of, for example which always threw me off track a bit and he'd constantly compliment my negotiating skills and good work with numbers. I felt he had earned the chance to manage our great Club, admittedly the compliments helped, but I could never of foreseen the manic chaos Mr Sherwood would come to ignite. Morale has never been lower, some players have expressed interest in our on site counselling service. Again, I've decided to act quickly and aggressively to resolve the situation and keep the dream alive in terms of our search for the special one.

You can fault my judgement, but you can't fault my passion, decisiveness and speed to deliver what's right for this Club.

Your loyal and respected leader.

Dan Levy - keep the faith.

To be fair, Tim was plunged into a situation where we were playing some incredibly boring football under AVB. I've never witnessed so much backward passing in our own half of the pitch and around the centre line and it was truly frustrating to watch. It certainly wasn't the Spurs way.

To give him a little credit, Tim has been courageous enough to bring in some young, home-grown talent. On the negative side he hasn't motivated the players enough and we do need that badly right now. His sitting in the stands, whatever his reasons, really didn't inspire the team. He lost his way as a first team coach but I hope he returns to the essential development role rather than leaving the club as he does have an eye for future talent and I hope a new manager will work with that aspect of the club.

There was a time when teenagers were rocketed into the first team and given more of a chance to prove themselves much more than they are these days. Playing alongside older, more experienced footballers gives them an invaluable opportunity to learn and develop and I'd like to see more of our youngsters next season. It also gives the older team members an incentive to play at their best to remain first choice players.

What a load of hogwash. There's only one audience that will swallow any of it.

I know Levy gets stick for going through so many managers but it would be much harder for him to give them the boot if the fan base were fully behind them in the first place. Hoddle, Jol, Ramos, Redknapp, AVB and now Tim have all in my estimation had at least 50% of our fans calling for their heads long before Levy took action and although he has to take responsibility for hiring them, it doesn't help when our fans flip out at the first loss or questionable team selection.

How many chairman do make good managerial appointments these days? I think the list of managers who've won the League/FA cup/League cup in the last 10 years is pretty short compared to the number of managers who've been hired and fired and when you combine that with the fact we're up against teams with double or tripple our spending power, the need to get behind our players and manager becomes even greater.

Levy's problem is that he needs to give the job to someone and hand over full control of the club so it can be run with football as the top priority but he doesn't seem to trust anyone he hires.
