I think he's a moderate upgrade on PEH or Skipp, no more and no less, so not worth investing the kind of big money that's being spoken about here. Also, he would probably be looking for starting guarantees, which simply won't happen when everyone is fully fit.

He's just twenty three, made over fifty appearances for Chavs, and a dozen games for England. He's more mobile than either Pierre or Skipp and a far better passer and tackler than either of them.

I think Chavs would sell, in particular if Poch wants to bring more players in. He would be an excellent buy, fit into Ange's system and be a good signing for the next decade.

No downside as far as i can see?

I will speak to his brother at Dorking’s Boxing Day fixture but I can’t see it as his whole family are Chavs, he is their Captain and one of the first on the team sheet - do Chel$ki really need the money …..

I’m not a massive fan of his to be honest. Is he better than PEH and Skipp, yes I would say so, however I wouldn’t rate him anywhere near Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Kulusevski or Maddison.

Id say he is on par with Lo Celso.
Lo Celso is a better player. Gallagher is a hard worker and presses well but he’s technically limited. Gio is injury prone but technically he is on another level to Gallagher and Gio has significantly better vision and passing ability. Gallagher would be a slight upgrade on Skipp but i don’t think he adds anything to this team we don’t already have. I think he’d be a very solid addition but wouldn’t add anything significant and if he wasn’t home grown I wonder if we would actually be interested.

He's not for me.
I just don't really see anything that makes him stand out as anything other than average and we need more than that to upgrade the squad, especially for the sort of money he'd cost.
There are better options out there, I'm sure.

Mobility, energy and youth plenty of experience for his age I think he'd thrive under Ange.

Totally agree mate, even more so that he was one of the two players Ange said he really wanted last summer, the other being Maddison. 😊

- Versatile in midfield who can be combative, neat and tidy whilst also (as shown at Palace) can be a real goal threat if utilised further forward
- Allows us to sell both Skipp and Hojbjerg to free up a squad space and salary

These are the merits of the transfer and when you’re squad building/transitioning away from previous regimes I think it makes a lot of sense on both a practical and financial level.

Personally think we should be targeting a backup 6 if we are looking to reinforce the midfield. Gallagher is at his best higher up the pitch.

gonna take some stick, but I'd much rather sign Andres Gomes out from under Sean Dyche. That dude has GAME.
He’s pretty much permanently injured. He’s played around 90 games in five years for them and scored just three times and he’s 31 next year.
Please tell me that you weren’t aware of those stats ?

If you were could you please explain your logic as I honestly don’t see it. 😊

We don’t need more Association Trained HG. We already have 4. That’s all you get. Anything above that just a normal foreign squad space.

If Ange is desperate for him, Ange deserves to get him.

If we’re just looking to get him because we think it’s a bargain for Association Trained HG it’s bonkers.

Surely for 40-50M we can go find another (or 2) Paratici special(s) in Italy or South America

Agree significant upgrade on Skipp and PEH and moving these two on and replacing with Gallagher makes a lot of sense. Gallagher would provide cover or competition for Sarr in that 8 role. He’s not a patch on GLC as a footballer and wouldn’t provide much in the role to cover Maddison, Gallaghers best attributes are his engine and attitude while being tidy in possession.
