Yep, very hard to tell how genuine the interest is.i reckon this is Journo 'Bingo' now....
Tottenham to launch Conor Gallagher move in summer if Chelsea contract unresolved
Exclusive: Despite talks, Telegraph Sport understands there remains no significant progress over a new contract for the midfielderwww.telegraph.co.uk
Not sure they did, to be honest. To put it in perspective, Ndombele, Richarlison, Johnson, Romero, Maddison, Sanchez, Porro, van de Ven and Sissoko all cost somewhere between £60m and £50m each
I think if we go for Gallagher, part of the point would be it’s not a splurge. We’d be looking to take advantage of Gallagher’s contract situation and Chelsea’s financial problems. I think we would be looking to do the deal at the £30ish mill mark, which in today’s market isn’t that much.
To put it in perspective, Ndombele, Richarlison, Johnson, Romero, Maddison, Sanchez, Porro, van de Ven and Sissoko all cost somewhere between £60m and £50m each and Lo Celso was also close to £30m I think. If we do buy Gallagher he would be towards the lower end of that price range and some of those players were bought four or five years ago or more.

My memory is shocking but I thought Mads was 40m (but with a sale of Winks for 10m, so really only 30), Porro was about 30 odd, Sanchez was 42m including add-ons and Sissoko was 30m.
I also though VdV was about mid thirties?
Johnson was 48m, so the only ones between 50 and 60m would be Richy and Cuti?
Oh, and Tanguy...how could I forget him?!
As I say though, my memory is terrible and I can't be arsed to look it all up.
i know its slightly different to an Ar***al player signing for us....but not that much. Not really sure why he'd want to even leave Chelsea. Seems more like him trying to get the best deal possible.
Then again, I can only begin to imagine what their wage / turnover must be at with the trillion new players they brought in. And I'd imagine he'd be looking for 80 to 100k per week... at least.
For better or worse, I'm a fan. Think he'd be a great fit in our system. Ange loves flexibility, and this guy can play the "8" and "10" position well.
I doubt many will agree with me but if we're looking for an all action midfielder who won't be first choice and is ideally home grown, for my money Ross Barkley is every bit as good as Gallagher and wouldn't cost anywhere near the silly money Chelsea would demand.
Having watched him recently, & especially after 2day I have to agree. Mind you Lokonga looked really impressive 2day too.I doubt many will agree with me but if we're looking for an all action midfielder who won't be first choice and is ideally home grown, for my money Ross Barkley is every bit as good as Gallagher and wouldn't cost anywhere near the silly money Chelsea would demand.
Always liked him and really wanted him before he went to Chelsea but he’s 31 this year so it’s a very hard no from me.I doubt many will agree with me but if we're looking for an all action midfielder who won't be first choice and is ideally home grown, for my money Ross Barkley is every bit as good as Gallagher and wouldn't cost anywhere near the silly money Chelsea would demand.
Can honestly say I don't know a single thing about this player. We’re linked to Everton’s James garner as an alternative to Gallagher
