Decent player but lacks the one thing we need most IMO .... Pace. Our current favoured front 4 aren't blessed with great Pace. Playing forward quickly, you could say direct, as we have done more recently would be far more effective with players that can threeaten in behind.
He looked pretty quick to me when we played them! Certainly a better turn of pace than any of our current strikers.

I like him and would be happy to see him in a spurs shirt.

He's not lightning quick, no, but I must say I'm surprised to see this as I've actually found myself rather impressed with his combination of pace and work rate :cautious:

I remember hin having 2 or 3 opportunities against us where he had been put in through balls played down the side of our CBs (1 in particular from a diagonal run in behind Vertonghen) ans Fazio was able to make up ground and put enough pressure on him to prevent a clean strike at goal. As a result the saves Lloris made from him where quite straightforward.

If Fazio ever catches anyone, it's due to good positioning or containment from elsewhere. If Fats could run down any player on his own, that player wouldn't get a shirt.

No disrespect to Fats of course, I just don't think there's any player on any Prem side he could run down without extenuating circumstances to help him.

A lot of players look decent or terrible in their first season in th EPL. Its what they do in the second season that really matters. On that basis I wouldnt sign the guy.

This, varney for Leicester puts a shift in too, let's not try to sign a hard working British player just for the sake of it. We have Kane. We need a bit of quality.

If there's one thing he doesn't lack it's probably pace. Not sure where that comes from, everything I've seen of him he looks a quick player with a decent sprint on him. He actually reminds me a bit of Jay Rodriguez and given his age, wouldn't be surprised if Pochettino might view him as a player he could mold into that role.

If we are in a position to move on from one of Soldado/Ade in January and then the other in the summer, Ings would be a good start in adding a different option to the striker position.

Some of his goals in the Championship. Like the fact that he's good in the air and can finish with either foot.

Thought he had a very decent game against us a few weeks back. His movement and pace caused us problems, and his skill sat Vertonghen on his arse a few times too. Burnley have had some excellent young strikers pass through their club in recent years, and with his contract running down and his potential to get better given his age, he'd be an ideal striker to bring in to both compliment and challenge Kane.

This guy is a fucking animal. Absolutely love his intensity. Unlimited appetite. Love it.

Right up poch's alley imo and would be a great squad addition.

Saw it on another site, but Burnley have had a fantastic track record of bringing through Strikers.

Jay Rodriguez, replaced with Charlie Austin, replaced with Danny Ings. They seem to find players that work in the english game.

They purchased Ings and Austin after successful seasons with league 1 sides. I

In fact, Austin was a Reading youth player befor moving to like level 10 for like 4 years before going to Swindon for a bit then to Burnley. And he has scored double digit goals in every season every where he's been. Can we sign him?

Really like him. He's a lot quicker than some are saying. Plus bare in mind Pochettino's fitness regime and possibilities of helping Ings get faster still.
Decent finisher with both feet. Main thing is fact he's hungry, something you can't say about Ade and Soldado. Personally he seems like a Pochettino player, it's early to get a move and he's not entirely proven himself in PL yet but at a low price I'd be quite happy with that.
I want Kane to remain at 9, and having Ings on bench instead of either Soldado or Adebayor I'd actually prefer.

That is highly unlikely. Speed is genetics, and a professional footballer is without a doubt already at their peak speed. Only way to increase his speed would be to improve his technique with excessive sprint training for a few years. And that would be minimal increases.

True, but he could increase his acceleration with proper training.

100 percent. Why pay 7 million when we can get him for free in 6 months. He wouldnt be a first choice starter straight away so may well be paying 7 million for someone to sit on the bench

Depends if we want him, and whether we could get an equivalent player for 7m.

If we're not sure, then wait, and if someone else snaps him up for 7m this window, so be it.

Burnley won't sell for less than £15m. They would be effectively signing their relegation death warrant.

Better for them to stay up and let him go for free in the summer.

I was wondering something similar.

Storts on COYS saying he likely to stay at burnley in January and join Southampton in the summer.

You think he would jump at the chance to sign for us though if we showed any interest next month. He's got that deadline day feel about him.

I get what you're saying, but it's a recipe for always being behind the curve. In life you have to take risks to get ahead of the curve. You'll then be judged on the sum of the risks which paid off, less the one's which didn't.

It's like if you played poker and only bet your good hands, you'd over all end up a loser.
