I think we've seen how effective a hard working player with a bit of ability can be.

Poch has said we under rate English players and Ings seems like a hard worker who could learn to play the way Poch requires our players to.

He'd certainly offer more than Ade and Soldado right now.

We seem to have a better success rate of buying players we help develop to the next level than ones already there so feel this is a deal we could consider.

Jordan Rhodes is 2 years older. He was a 1 in 3 for a championship team at the age of 21, is that shit?

Is Rhodes better than Kane because he scored more in the Championship than Kane did?
Your missing my point. Neither are good enough.

I really don't see how we can't afford Bony if indeed he is the striker poch wants? Especially if we are selling the likes of paulinho, soldado, & chirches as rumoured? Surely what we get for these 3 would cover his cost / wages. If poch wants him we should be going all out to get him no? Add in the ITK that they want naughton there must be some chance of a deal? IMO he'd be great for us & Ings would just be another cheaper mediocre signing that would not push us on to where we would like to be

With City interested and a £30million price tag, I doubt we'd be able to get him. And there's no guarantee we will sell those players mentioned.

Far from a guarantee - it will be very difficult to offload all of those for the money Levy will accept

The damage done during the Bale window is still in effect and will probably take at least another two windows to correct

Interchanging attacking 4 of Kane, Ings, Lamela and Lacazette, in front of Eriksen and Mason.

KILL ME

---------Ings---Kane
Lacazette-------------Lamela
------Eriksen---Mason---
That team gets torn apart on the other side of the ball, would be worse than United and with not nearly the attacking quality.

just to say... olympic level sprinting speed and ability may be genetic.. but it's easily possible to develop an already professional athlete into a decent sprinter with a few years of focused training.. not acceleration drills but a whole host of other stuff...

would strongly suggest looking at 'the theory of marginal gains' that David Brailsford, used in British cycling to win a those golds.. same thing has been used in Triathletes and boxing with great succss..
Im sorry but that is not correct. Genetics is everything in sprinting, either your born fast or your not. The balance between fast twitch muscle fibers and slow is key(The more fast the better). This balance is not something you can train to change. Either your born with a balance of high amount of fast fibers or your not. You can however train your fibers, but you can't increase the amount of fast fibers or vice versa. A few years of proper sprint training will improve your speed, but it wont be drastic improvements. You can become faster, but you wont become fast unless you already are fast.

Acceleration drills was just an example in my earlier post .I've been involved at a football club doing extra sprint training for promising youngsters so Im well aware of the drills used.

Ings is a good player but i'm not sure he's what we need. I'd actually prefer (and I can hardly believe i'm saying this ... :sorry:) Ashley Barnes :wideyed:. I don't know what they've been feeding him but somehow he's turned into a proper no.9. His work rate is just as good as Ings, he can hold the ball up and is good at bringing other players into play. In the last 2 weeks alone he's scored against Southampton, Man City and us, and a couple of those were absolute crackers.

Now this may just be a statistical anomaly but something seems to have changed. Last season he would fall over if someone farted in his general direction but all of a sudden he's become an absolute beast, bullying defenders and winning aerial challenges. I've mentioned him in the Spurs scouting thread and the guy has either spent a lot of time in the gym or he's on horse steroids :shifty:.

I do appreciate that anybody who hasn't seen him play in the last month or so is going to think i'm completely off my rocker. Some players just develop a bit later. He's been keeping Sam Vokes and Marvin Sordell on the bench. He's not the best player we could get as a no.9 but if we've learned anything about Levy's winter transfer dealings it's that we are not going to go anywhere near the best player we could get. As a very cheap option who would fit very nicely into Poch's system we could do a lot, lot worse.

Fair shout, but I'd prefer Ings, personally.

People who think that we could get Bony or Benteke in January r so deluded. Danny Ings might just turn out to be shit for spurs and that's okay. All we needed for him is to run his ass off for half a season for us, and I think he'd easily be able to do the job(y)

I would prefer someone of Ings' pace and agility or greater, but I like the cut of your argument here. Well made, sir.
