True, but he could increase his acceleration with proper training.
Thats the technique part, and were still talking years of proper sprint training. And its not like he haven't had proper training at his previous clubs. Expecting Poch training regime to improve his speed is ridiculous. He's not a miracle worker.

To clarify I do think Ings have enough pace for a striker. I just find that people often excaggerate the impact Poch's training have on players to the point it becomes ridiculous.

I'd still prefer Lacazette than anyone but always liked what I've seen of Ings so if we couldn't get the former then I would defo take the latter.

Only 21 I believe and english. Him and Kane could end up being England's future strike pairing.

His comments don't concern me as he's saying what the fans want to hear about staying in January. If he wanted to stay at Burnley then he wouldn't be running down his contract and possibly leaving on a free. Bersides, if the club decides to accept a bid from us or any other club then he won't turn down a move.

I really like Ings. Reminds me of an upgraded Shane Long.

Would be all for it. Hunger is something you can't teach. Bit of an animal this guy.

Wonder if we loaned them Townsend or something if that would help...they have Vokes coming back and Barnes hitting form out of nowhere.

That is highly unlikely. Speed is genetics, and a professional footballer is without a doubt already at their peak speed. Only way to increase his speed would be to improve his technique with excessive sprint training for a few years. And that would be minimal increases.

Lampard did it

If Fazio ever catches anyone, it's due to good positioning or containment from elsewhere. If Fats could run down any player on his own, that player wouldn't get a shirt.

No disrespect to Fats of course, I just don't think there's any player on any Prem side he could run down without extenuating circumstances to help him.

I didn't say it was impossible, I said its highly unlikely to make any significant improvements especially if you are a professional athlete. Lampard might have improved slighty over the years, many most likely have.Thats not the point tho. Ings has most likely been doing acceleration drills since a young age, and to expect any significant improvements only because he'd start training under Poch is ignorant.

just to say... olympic level sprinting speed and ability may be genetic.. but it's easily possible to develop an already professional athlete into a decent sprinter with a few years of focused training.. not acceleration drills but a whole host of other stuff...

would strongly suggest looking at 'the theory of marginal gains' that David Brailsford, used in British cycling to win a those golds.. same thing has been used in Triathletes and boxing with great succss..

Personally don't see how people think he's quick ans after seeing fitness test results he's similar to Kane. Burnley have employed his as a 10 on 4 occassions this season & played quicker players up front. He is closer in style to Harry Kane than he is to what we need in a CF & I think Kane is as good a no.9 than him and a better no.10.

In the PL:
Ings this season has scored 4goals in 16games with 3 assists. Not bad. However hes had 48 shots to score them goals.

Kane has scored 5 goals in 15 games (started 9) with 1 assist and has had 37 shots.

I get that people want a change from Soldado and Adebayor but what we need is a different type of player IMO. After all, having players with similar styles hasnt got us far to date. Just look at our midfield players!

Already the crazy rumours start Danny Ings is not good enough for us. If we have aspirations of getting in the top 4 then we need a bony or benteka not Danny bloody ings

Disagree very strongly.

Firstly, we can't afford Bony or Benteke. We can't even afford Berahino based on current rumoured valuation.

Second, I thought it was understood that we have to buy before players become big names (I.e. Expensive).

Third, Ings has potential to develop, and possibly could do a good job for us - certainly better contribution than a non playing Ade or a non-scoring Bobby.

How exactly has Danny Ings become an option for us? He is less than a 1 in 3 striker for a championship team. Has everyone on this site decided that they want us to be mid table nobodies again? Ffs. Jordan Rhodes is twice the player he is. And I don't want him either.

Jordan Rhodes is 2 years older. He was a 1 in 3 for a championship team at the age of 21, is that shit?

Is Rhodes better than Kane because he scored more in the Championship than Kane did?

It's probably media bolllocks anyway. I just don't see this happening he is a championship player or at best a bottom half premier league team

Absolutely no surprise there and absolutely pointless post. Why not let the guy and the rest of us have a laugh?
I put a smiley face at the end of it. In what way am I preventing everyone else finding it funny?
