Not a player I like at all for a variety of reasons, in fact he's my most disliked player, but if the club deem him part of their plans going forward then there's no choice but to support him when he plays and encourage him to develop into a better player than most of us (myself included) believe him to be.

I'd laugh if I saw any of you moaning about players having no loyalty next time we sell a good one :playful:

If he's happy to stay and fight it out for his place in the team then that's fine by me (and im one of Danny boys harshest critics). People are so quick to forget the good start to the season that he had and the clamour for him to rush back from his injury.

Lets face it, Ben Davies will be 1st choice so hopefully the days of Danny Rose being our starting left back by sheer default of having no other options are over. Who knows, given another chance Danny may well surprise us, if not we can recoup some decent cash given the length of his contract, it whats called a win-win situation.

I'm fine with this. Danny has a lot of potential. The turmoil last season clearly did him no favors and I'm definitely happy to have him get a second chance now that Davies will see the bulk of the minutes.

I'm going to miss Benny. LOL forever, Benny.

if people are genuinely happy with Rose signing a new deal then the club should just give up... no ambition, no progress, no success. He is exactly the sort of player we should be moving away from

I'm not actively 'happy' but it makes sense in regards to the squad. If we were extending his deal as our first choice LB with no competition the negative slant of your post would be slightly more justified.

With support like that I wouldnt mind if you gave up and moved on (y)

He's here for COMPETITION. A new contract really can't be a bad thing.

If we sell, it increases his value. If we keep him, then hopefully his game will improve, along with Davies.

Also, people seem to have forgotten how much we missed him when he was injured under AVB. He was impressive at Sunderland, and started the season well.

I don't understand why people are pissed off about this.

If bd gets injury, i would be more than happy to see rose than naughton/fryers/jan/benny @ lb, still a good move for me

i don't think that's clear cut at all. i would not be all that surprised to see rose starting vs west ham.

If we are to trust Poch in incoming transfers, especially ones he hasn't worked with before, we should trust his judgement on our players he has worked with on pre-season. If he sees usein for Rose, we should keep him.

Posted this in wrong thread:

When ITK said Rose was flying off the handle I said he would calm down. This is fantastic news and only further illustrates the "Poch effect" and how even angry players can be re-motivated by the superb manager we now have at the helm.

Excellent news. Rose showed us against Chicago Fire that he can be a solid player under the right manager. Chuffed quite frankly.

Maybe it's because:
- He's young;
- Is developing well in training;
- He's one of the only natural lefties in the squad;
- Has experience playing left back & left wing; &
- Doesn't have as bad an attitude as the retard contingent perceive (except wanting to play - heaven forbid)

Fucking hell. I really hope this is Levy's doing, and not Pochettino's, because if the new manager thinks Rose is worth keeping, I fear for this season.

Awful player with an awful attitude.

Great news, he's an adequate back up for a club like us.

I don't know what goes through some of our fans head sometimes (Twitter is shameful for the abuse he's getting) We're THFC, Rose is good cover, we can't go out and get 1 worldy and one decent back up.

Same goes for Naughton, Yeah ok, he and Rose arn't my favourite players, but they can do a job. We can't go out and put 2nd choices on big wages etc etc so it's good we look to retain our young players with the aim of improving them.

I've not totally given up on players like Rose and Andros improving under Poch

Surprised.

I really thought he'd be miffed at having Davies come in. Hopefully this shows he wants to compete for the spot and will be able to get better. Plus, there are lots of games he can play in even as 2nd choice.

Just dont see why so many are intent on us selling Danny Rose, he may not be flavour of the month but under the correct coaching he has all the attributes to be an excellent asset to the club in the medium to long term, He is clearly also willing to fight for his place and gives us a set of young left backs that offer differing attributes with regards to attacking and solidity.

All these young players signing new deals is extremely positive for the club IMO ...and I for one am happy about it

Posted in the wrong thread but...

The Rose signing...if absolutely nothing else...just smart. We have had multiple seasons where we have had no depth at LB, we just signed a LB and to let Rose go would put us in the exact same position.

Keep in mind the market for LBs....LFC have been trying to sign Moreno since June and still can't get it done, the player they had as a backup option was widely reported to be Ryan Bertrand....seems a bit of a gap in ability.

Ryan Bertrand just signed for Soton on a season loan with an option to buy....the rumoured price for that "option to buy"....£10m....Ryan Bertrand is worth £10m...Ryan Bertrand who was at best average and at worst a fucking liability at Villa last year.....THAT Ryan Bertrand is worth £10m....THE Ryan Bertrand is worth £10m.

We just locked up Rose, who isn't by any stretch of the imagination a world beater....but he fully capable of being just as average as THE Ryan Bertrand who is worth £10m.....if Rose crashes out moving forward at least we can get a higher fee for him.
