If we got rid of Soldado and Adebayor and just signed Defoe on loan our strike force would still be superior to what it is now.
No we wouldnt. He's scored 2 goals in the PL since December of 2012 but has added a multiplicity of offsides and the added bonus of us willingly playing with 10 men! But yep, since he scored lots of goals for us up to 2 years ago, we should bring him back since he's a spurs legend and all that!

How quickly we all forget that we couldnt wait for him to go and were happy we got him off the books since he is past it.

I
As for Defoe, my opinion of him is no secret on here, and I'm well and truly in the camp of those who don't see him as something we need. I fully understand that he's scored goals, but when Poch bases pretty much everything on team ethic & togetherness, I can't think of anyone more opposite than Defoe.
Have I missed something here?

Is have him back for £3million, or even just a 6 month loan, gives us more options in attack and a bit of pace (provided he still has it) that none of our strikers really have... And even a useless defoe is a better option than adebayor who can't even make the bench

DEFOE GATHERING INTEREST

Sky Sources are telling us there has been interest from 10 Premier League clubs for Jermain Defoe, but that the striker’s preference would be a return to Tottenham.

FC Toronto’s asking price is £3million, and Hull boss Steve Bruce has already said a move could be difficult financially.

No surprise if that is true, he can score goals and will do so still.
