Arsenal laying off 50+ employees and signing a 32 year old player for 3 yrs on a £100k+ salary is amazing

Saw this on Bluemoon:

“mourinho is going to hate us even more if the deal we are working on happens . Yes I’m talking Harry Kane . Not sure it will happen with Levy at spurs , but Thought id share the information, we are working on a deal.”

Arf! Maybe they are or maybe they aren’t......but they stand no chance either way!

Talksport are claiming that Willian is getting a £10M signing on fee and £200k a week for 3 years at the goons.

And yet they're making 55 staff redundant.

Disgusting really.

Always knew they were genuine pieces of shit but now it's 110% confirmed.

Sky Sports' Andy Walker on Edouard:

“We talk a lot about how much players in Scotland are worth. This is a guy who is 22 and will probably go on and play for the French national team. I watch a lot of football in England, and I’ve seen Joelinton at Newcastle, who cost £40m, and 100 per cent Odsonne Edouard is a better player.

“I’m not suggesting Celtic will hold out for £40m, but he is that good.”

Ok Andy, let's be honest here - Joelinton is by no means the datum point for a £40m striker, calm down.

We should be all over Lewis. Liverpool got a bargain with Robertson and they'll have another one here. I get that LB wont be a priority as Jose likes Davies but he'll need competition.

Think Jose like Dennis Cirkin, he's been praising him a lot - I expect him to be backup to Davies.

We’re hearing a lot of excellent reviews but he hasn’t played at U23 level yet never mind 1st team football. It’s a massive ask expecting him to step into 1st team contention.

Will probably play the odd cup games, it would be interesting to see if he does play if Davies isn't available though, guess that will depends on his progression.

BREAKING: Liverpool have submitted a £10million bid for Norwich left-back Jamal Lewis.

Looks like Norwich want £20m. Still a bargain? There’s some hefty money being bandied around for relegated defenders. Three Norwich defenders from their four all being primed for big money moves. If they were that good, they’d not have been relegated with about ten points.

I guess taken in to context they showed a lot of promise and potential despite the fact that Norwich were poor, I wouldn't particularly solely blame the individuals especially when they were setup to fail.

Playing for a poor side doesn’t = every player must be crap.

Norwich have a very young defence, they were bound to struggle. They all play well for the England under 21s and have shown a lot of promise.

Robertson was relegated twice, bought by Liverpool, now one of the best LBs in the world.

If true, I imagine they're playing the long game on this one. There's no chance he leaves this summer, but another season like we've just had and a move to City for a trophyless 28 year old might hold some appeal.

I would agree with this I like Lewis a lot and I think he will be a good player what ever club he ends up at.

My problem with buying Lewis is Dennis Cirkin who I think will be a brilliant LB for us long term and you cannot have Cirkin behind say a Lewis and a Davies, I think Cirkin will be a better LB than Sessegnon.

A world record bid would be difficult to turn down for a 27 year old who has been injured for 2/3 months for last 3 seasons.

I love him, we all do. But 200m+. Jose could do a lot with that.

Not saying I want him to leave. No way. Just that it would be difficult to turn down. If it was a foreign club I think Levy would take it, but can't sell to domestic rival.

All fair points about potential in the Norwich defenders. And a good point about Robertson too. Although he was a quarter of the Hull defence. There’s talk of three quarters of the Norwich defence being £20m players. Don’t see it myself.

Arsenal, Man City and Juventus are in a three-way battle for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar who also played with Tanguy Ndombele.
The 22-year-old is reportedly 'adored' by City boss Pep Guardiola and L'Equipe claims Lyon want up to £54m for their French star.
