Tottenham and Manchester United are battling for Hertha Berlin left-back Gilberto.
The 31 year-old's agent has already confirmed the interest of United and German sources say Spurs have also made contact about the defender's availability.

Do we have a record yet for players linked in january??

When i was playing Pro the other day, i was Brazil and Julio Caesar was down for the game, so I put Gilberto in goal thinking he was a goalkeeper but he kept fumbling shots and then i noticed he was actually a full-back.

Is he better than Robinson?

At playing left back? I'm probably better than Robinson!

I've got 23 players either joining or leaving since January 3. Not bad for a 12-day period. That's out of a total 114 comings and goings suggested by the media since the last window closed on August 31.

SSN reporting that we are lining up an 8 million pound bid for BOF.

He has turned us down though.

The last thing we need is another left back. We've got Lee, Bale, Assou-Ekotto and Gunter who can play there well. Why would we need another?

We've effectively got Leapy and Gunter, and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we say bye-bye to Leapy this summer—as I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we write off BAE. And Bale can't tackle for toffee.

Why would we say bye-bye to Lee? Surely he's perfect for helping Bale progress defensively.

Well, I certainly hope we don't, I just wouldn't be flabbergasted if we did, that's all. Presumably he'll have a year left on his contract?
