at least jd was up for the game and tried to create something
we all know he misses more than he scores but he also creates chances which bent just does not do
bent has no passion for the club , looks constantly depressed , he is not what we need , no one but levy and comolli wanted him to sign and it seems that ramos and redknapp obviously dont rate him either

Defoe's goal against Pompey was the sort of goal nobody else at the club could score. Love him or loathe him, Defoe will score you a tap in, a long range shot from outside the box an unexpected goal through individual brilliance.

IMO it's great to have the little man back.

I actually thought that David James done incredibly well yesterday, rather than Defoe doing shit on his chances.

Two pieces of advice for strikers:

Always shoot low - Gary Linneker was the greatest exponent of this.
from an angle always shoot across the keeper towards the far post.

Defoe tends to do neither he invariably shoots high and near post, as in his first half miss, so good as he is if he did these he would be one of the best.

edit: not one of the best, one of the greats.
