Is there anyone you want from the relegated teams?

no, none really.. Duff, Downing, and maybe Brunt, but the rest can go suck a lemon. Why would any of us want any of their defenders?? Have you not been watching this season?

I wouldn't want any Newcastle players - they showed an appalling attitude and really didn't look that bothered at the end. I like Tuncay but don't think he's what we need.

So, no - but thanks

Could nt have said it better myself. The attitude shown by the Toon players yesterday was awful. No effort, no pride.

Tuncay???? Half decent player but not really what we need

The premiership quality players from the teams relegated are Tuncay, Downing, Wheater, Huth, O'Neill, Duff, Owen, Martins, Guttierrez, Taylor, Coloccini, Harper, Enrique , Nolan and Beye.

TBH none of them.

Have you seen Boro's defending at times this season? I know it's the strikers that have relegated them really but their defence is anything but impressive.

I'd take Chris Hughton back, not as first team coach but there should be a role for him somewhere in the club in some sort of coaching capacity.

But player wise, I'd struggle to think of anyone that would improve us significantly. Downing would have been a useful addition, had he not got crocked.

i am shocked that not every single of one you would take gutierezz in an instant.

do you people watch football?

he is far too good for the codes.

i want martins, but i can understand that strikers are a bit of a different issue because the midfield and how they fit into the team can make a difference so perhaps martins would have a chance of screwing up at spurs.

but jonas gutierezz? yes effing please!!!

Problem with Jonas is that he doesn't have a single goal for them, barely any assists and doesn't even start half the time.

He looks good but whether he is or not is debatable.

Gutierrez has 0 goals and 0 assists, yes he's very hardworking but has negative end product. Maybe he'd work in a better team, but he can't cross or shoot and I dunno how better teammates would improve that, though I suppose he could become like Park someday (massive improvement would be needed).

I might take Bassong but he will want to start games and seems to be headed to l'Arse. Brunt might be ok as cover but West Brom fans don't really rate him that highly, apparently he's very inconsistent and definitely not their best player. I think Enrique might make decent LB cover if he's willing to sit on the bench since I doubt if he's going to get ahead of Benny.

Johnson isn't really good at all, good dribbler but makes poor decisions and has zero end product; apparently he's far better for the U21s than for Boro. Boro fans generally agree Downing is still much better atm.

Not from what I've seen! He flatters to deceive, he really isn't very good.

Wasn't he the one who exercised his right to give notice of his intention to quit his previous club so that he got a move to Newcastle. I was under the impression that there was a gentleman's agreement among clubs to to encourage invoking this rule...what a surprise Newcastle went against this!

We don't want ex-Geordies, they've proved they are all mercenaries out for as much dollars as possible.

Adam Johnson was getting great reports for Watford, MoM most games in the local paper, and it was only 'Boro ending his loan that stopped them making a promotion push last season.

Agreed, I've never forgiven our club for signing Waddle, Gazza or Ginola to name but three :duh:

The current lot are crap, I'm all for kicking the toon when they are down, but they used to have some players worth signing.

Jonas Gutierrez is all style and no substance. If we want a flair player in the window we should get a good one, Jonas spends more time on his arse than he does creating anything worthwhile.

I would have hoped you wouldn't have applied my words so literally...afterall it is a thread about current relegated teams.

But yes, I shouldn't have said ex-Geordies. I meant the current crop of crap!

i would take downing, even if he is injured - he would be cheaper as a result of his injury, and when we bought steed, he was injured for a lifetime too - and it would also mean that he wouldnt be demanding of a consistent first team place week-in week-out if we have a good system going. This lack of pace malarky is utterly bollocks, he's definite quality couple with hard work and consistency. He could provide us with that option of two wingers, or even replacing lennon if he's injured (modric switch to the right and we play a mirror game).

If we get tuncay as a semi-auxiliary back-up option, I wouldn't be disappointed, he's definitely very useful, has guile and skill, works hard, that offside goal he scored against us at WHL required a lot of technique, and he pulled it off majestically.

Brunt if we get rid of a mass of midfielders like o'hara and zokora, but only in desperation.

No to everyone else:
Adam Johnson is not good enough. No CB's from any of the teams. Jonas is really not as good as his argentian status seems to deem him. He didnt even start for newcastle towards the end, he can dribble, but his final ball makes lennon seem like beckham, his shot makes anyone on our team seem like pele. yes he works hard, but we aren't stoke, we strive for real quality. that pretty much goes for the whole of newcastle, including Martins who couldnt hit a barn door with yours.
NO NO NO to duff - people seem to be really impressed that he said that he plans to stay at Newcastle, but honestly this is a show of him being the ultimate mercenary - he's on smthg like 65k a week without a relegation clause, he won't be able to find that kind of wage anywhere else, and his place in the irish squad is almost guaranteed, so he is draining newcastle for all that they are worth.
Bassong is probably too good to come and sit on our bench, and we already have Dawson.
Coloccini is truly and utterly a pile of wank. Owen is awful for all the 12 games he plays a season.

Viduka could actually be quite useful, and cos he's fat and old, he wouldnt be demanding regarding regular starts.
