To think that he only really played as a striker for half the season. Keep him add a centre forward of note and were taking 50, 60 goals next year.

If he can play a whole season the way he did the second half of this one then we really are talking Ronaldo territory. Given the upward curve that we've seen from of him of late I see no reason to believe he can't achieve that.

Even if I were to look at it purely from a financial perspective I think it would be absolute madness to sell him tbh, because I'm convinced that his value will only be greater at this time next year. I hear it said by media types that if Levy received an offer of £60m he'd find it impossible to refuse. I don't buy that for a second though. He'll see the potential here and he's gonna be thinking that at this point next year we could talking £80m+. This is Levy we're talking about afterall.

The thing is. All of his goals seem to be world class shots from outside the box, but it's nearly as easy for him to score those as it is for Dempsey to get a tap in, provided he has a yard of space.

The guy is simply ridiculous. Even Messi and Ronaldo don't do that with the consistency that Bale has this last few months.

If we can get a player with great movement inside the box, and the ability to pull defenders away, it's scary to think what Bale, and our team can achieve next season.

He's not leaving. Do you know how I know? Because if he tries I'm going straight to spurs, and clinging to his leg. There's no way he could even make it to his car trying to drag me along with him.

Depends which leg you grab. I reckon the left will be strong enough to carry you, but if you grab his right, he won't be able to move. ;)

Everyone's going to sit down over the summer and work him out. He's going to have to come up with something different.

50/60 goals

or 10-15 if he doesn't adapt his game past cutting inside in on his left.

Not knocking him but due to his quality he has to switch it up... At least he's recognised this in interviews.

Players already know not to show him on his left, but with his pace and strength they can't stop him every single time..
It was a joke...

He said he's going to work on his right foot over the summer so I reckon we could be looking at 100-120.

I'm not sure you can work out or stop what he does. He scores brilliant goals, from outside the box, by finding a yard of space out there. It's like Defoe's shift and shoot except it's outside the penalty box where there's tons more space. Teams double up on him, but even then, he has the pace to run into that space in the middle and curl one in. They might need to put 2 men on him and have one drop off into the space just outside the D ready to close him down when he cuts inside, which would free up a lot of Bale's teammates elsewhere.

Sorry - just saw you were joking. (it wasn't funny ;))

I want him to stay as much as anyone else, but trying to physically disable the poor lad to put off potential buyers is a bit too extreme, don't you think?

i don't like how the ball stops with him and we go into a bale isolation mode. it's like carmelo and the knicks.

This. People will be wary of Bale all next season, he may not get quite as many goals, but I have a feeling he will have many more assists. Players with better movement and the space created by teams doubling up on Bale should open up defences far easier than we have done this season.

Whilst I think he may not have the most productive season next year if he stays, I think teams have already worked him up, but they just cant stop him. If he does it again under tighter conditions, then we will have a 'top 3 player in the world' at our club.

This if we weren't so static there'd be more goals spread round the team as bale would have more options rather than just shooting
