If he was left footed I’d be fully on board with it. Foyth will be sold to generate the funds.. just don’t see where the game time is for Kim with already having Toby Sanchez Dier Tanganga? Maybe cash in on Toby as well before he goes into his last year and still holds some value? Would leave us pretty inexperienced at the back though..

Best left sided defender we ever had was right footed. Most left sided centre backs are right footers, if you relied on having a left footer there you’d be fucked as such a small proportion of the world population is naturally left handed or footed, imagine how few become top level footballers.

Well we currently have one Asian and one African, and are allowed to register 25 players so I think we’re fine.

Foyth seems unlikely to be in Mourinho’s plans, and if the other 4 one is highly inexperienced and one is on the decline, while both the other two seem to cause all sorts of debate in these parts (admittedly usually unfairly).

If this is happening I see no downside.

If that's the case I'd much rather keep Foyth who cost 10m than fork out 15m on Kim. It has all the hallmarks of another Khumalo or Mabizela deal to me.

But Foyth is so weak physically. He’ll struggle in a physical league as a centre back

Agreed best defenders in Europe are right footed playing LCB. What I was trying to say is being left footed would make him different to what we already have as I assume he’s currently not any better than Toby Sanchez Dier Tanganga..

Khumalo and Mabizela came from a far weaker league than the Chinese, and were likely suggestions from Gary Mabbutt. Additionally, I think we were partnered with Supersport. They were silly deals.

This guy, compared to Foyth, is just over a year older, has more experience in a league that’s comparable in quality to that from which Foyth was signed, and has much more international experience, is 3/4 inches taller and clearly bigger, and at least from the clips looks at least as fast and pretty comfortable on the ball.

Having never watched him I can’t comment further than the above as no more evidence is available to us, but he seems at worst the same level of risk as persisting with Foyth would be and, based on what we’ve seen so far of Foyth, potentially far more suited to both this division and our current manager.

Foyth clearly has talent but he’s 22 with barely any competitive football to his name. He’s in the KWP bucket of now being borderline whether he’ll ever make it at this level and needs games fast, which won’t happen at Spurs.

I take your point.

Who knows, I’ve not seen one minute of him outside of YouTube, but as he is abreast highly experienced in competitive football, he may well have a sharp incline once exposed to better team mates, opponents and training facilities/ coaches. Toby is on the way down, Sanchez needs to step up and Dier needs to prove he can continue in this vein, while Tanganga has a lot of developing to do. One more around the same age as Sanchez will not only give us depth, it could lead to a very shrewd gem who rapidly improves, much like Van Dyke and Wanyama after leaving Celtic for Southampton. It also allows Tanganga to provide full back cover as he’s got the pace for it, and maybe even develop at RB given that he lacks some height.

Not sure about this guy. Personally too much of a risk for me in a market, where every Pound needs to be well spend.

If we decide to go for a CB, I would like to have a more proven player who has experience in a Top league and does not need log to settle. Like the idea of signing Godfrey or someone in that category more.

I really don’t understand why people are so put off by the fact he plays in the CSL.

I don’t seem to recall people feeling the same way about Vertonghen and Sanchez, despite them coming from a dreadful league?

I DO recall people absolutely wetting their knickers over Bernard when he was at Shakhtar, which imo is a much worse league than the CSL, and look how he turned out.

You only need to see from some clips that he’s literally a physical monster. He can pass, he can tackle, he’s got pace, I can’t imagine he loses many aerial duels either.

Honestly when it comes to CBs, I wouldn’t get too hung up on the league they’re coming from.

People here or on Twitter are saying that Luis Campos is the must but I don't think they know what kind of players he would sign looking that Hojbjerg, Aarons, Min-Jae etc are bad signings for some reason for them :D
