I worked in the chemical industry for many years and Ineos were our biggest competitor, and we benefited hugely from the knowledge that almost all the assets JR acquired over the years have been run into the ground. The only obvious exceptions are those where he was been able to coerce his customers into paying exhorbitant prices just to keep the supply line open.I don't think Ratcliffe has increased the value of any of his recent assets?
Yeah just back the manager is the fastest way to do a UnitedAgree. Seems to me the manager wanted these players and the club paid huge to get them.
We have numerous posters on this site saying we need to pay whatever it takes to get who the manager wants. It's entertaining to watch this tactic fail so spectacularly.
Absolutely nothing to do with doping. Nothing at allBrailsford’s “marginal gains” success at Team Sky and then Ineos has partly been down to those teams having a 40/50% bigger budget than all of the competition.
As that’s not going to happen at United I’m not entirely convinced this is going to be roaring success. Probably an improvement of what they have now but not sure that’s going to take a lot.
That's one of the reasons their fans are so upset... Ange is the perfect example of a new manager coming in instantly implementing a style. I've not watched Forest properly since Nuno went in but Neville said even he's made sweeping, noticeable changes in the couple of matches he's had so far. You watch this United side and you just have no idea what they're trying to be or how Ten Hag is trying to set them up, even after 18 months in the job and hundreds of millions spent. Not sure if it was this thread or another, but someone made a good point on their playing style.
I was potentially interested in us hiring ETH due to how Ajax were playing. He has been provided with many of his top targets. Like other managers results can take time.
But unlike Pep, Arteta, Klopp, Ange and others there have been no signs of a style of play by ETH.

Hardly a vote of confidence in their number 2 keeper....Just read that Utd hope Onana can play against us on 14 Jan before joining up with Cameroon.
Cameroon’s first game is on 15 Jan so surely they won’t allow that. It’s a bit desperate from Utd to even ask imo.
Always have been to careful with getting managers from teams like Ajax, as they are so well run as a club from top to bottom that getting a tune out of them isn't that difficult. Not sure if it was this thread or another, but someone made a good point on their playing style.

I literally had to go on their website now to find out who their second choice is.Hardly a vote of confidence in their number 2 keeper....
Onana left the Cameroon squad mid-World Cup after a bust up with coach Rigobert Song over playing style so he might not care that much. Song is still in charge.I doubt Cameroon will be happy with that. I guess it comes down to how much Onana thinks he needs to be with the international team. I reckon his ego will tell him that UTD is more important and he'll be there on the 14th.
