Dawson the only one on tunnel cam who looked like he gave a jot, apparently he was also the only player who went to the fans afterwards.

Lovely bloke, but good enough for where we want to be? Dunno.

The way we play, our central defenders will be facing a lot of one-on-ones with attackers. It's been going great so far, and he's adapted a hell of a lot better than Terry ever did, but Dawson is an old school english centre back that prefers dropping off.

I reckon Chiriches will be better suited to our tactics in the long run.

I've never seen him look so confused at the back. He could see gaps in front of him but couldn't fully understand why they weren't taken care of. Then he himself tried to handle the situation which ended with him being our of position half the time. Poor stuff at this level in all honesty

yup. its like we forgot how to defend against a two striker attack.... our centreback got pulled all over the place constantly.

Dawson's main problem seems to be that he's from the north of England. If he was from River Plate and calle Dawsinho everyone wold be creaming over him.

Apart from possibly Sandro he's the only player that actually looks bothered enough to play for the club. Kaboul had a worse game, responsible for at least 2 goals (#2 and #3), yet always seems to get a free pass?

This is such a bullshit excuse. We fucking ride on anyone who doesn't perform... like Gio etc... so stop this, he's british so is undervalued.

Dawson had a real shocker yesterday, but as the above, so did everyone else.

Dawson is still a good defender, but shouldn't be picked against pacy attackers like Aguero

Yesterday isnt the best example, but no I dont think Dawson is good enough for where we want to be, ultimately, I think a partnership of Jan & Kaboul/Vlad is where we should be looking.

I love the bloke, but am fed up of the whole "would shed blood for the shirt" thing, so would I, but believe me when I say you dont want me playing centre half either !

Shame he didn't seem to mind getting turned inside and out during the match then.

Dawson is one of the most idiotic centre backs around. He constantly gets tight to defenders and constantly gets either turned or the player passes it around the corner. He did it about 6 or 7 times against basel last season and I was fucking shouting at the TV (something I rarely do).

He is thick. Lovely bloke, heart on the sleeve, but a simpleton of the game.

have thought Daws hasn't been good enough for years.
he was up for sale last year only QPR went in for him, this speaks volumes.

If we are to progress it's time we stopped playing players on sentiment and purely on ability. Dawson is NOT good enough for us. We have outgrown him. He is too slow and cumbersome. Plays ok against bottom half teams because that is his level

Not suited to highline unless got a very good fit defender next to him. Kaboul looked off the pace, missing that final 10%.

Also I am amazed how vertonghen avoided criticism.
My question is why are we persisting with the high line, when it isnt really working for us.

Ok until yesterday, not so many conceded, but it clearley doesnt suit our overall game as it squashes the midfield and puts more defenders in thier half, which kills our attack.

being a warrior just isn't good enough anymore, im a massive fan of Dawson, but yesterday he was shown up time after time, one point I remember well was when Navas got to the line crossed it and Negredo head just over Dawson was caught under the ball not even a foot need the striker,

we need to play our best CB at CB - Verts
