Would be nice to see some happiness around this place, its Christmas for fucks sake.
SC has scheduled 'happiness' for 9am on the 25th December, to end at 9.30am, after which the bitching, backstabbing, cock waving, snideyness and backscuttling of other members mums will continue as before.

Sounds like the WWI truce. Football on No Man's Land. Rifles for goalposts. Isn't it. Mmm.

The answer is simple. Just have a rant/argument section like we do for Spurs News, General Footy etc. and have all the moaning and whining done there, far away from the front page and the what's new area. That way we don't have to have our spirits dashed every time they pick up again.

I had a Christmas meltdown a few years back with a drunken anti Bellamy open letter to levy.

Not a shining moment for me :(

This is my biggest concern now, i mentioned it in another thread but that was going at the speed of a freight train at the time - Levy has, for the last few years, given the fans exactly what we've demanded at almost every turn; We wanted Harry out, he got rid of Harry. We wanted a dynamic new manager, someone who could stick around for a few years, he bought in the epitome of a young dynamic manager who had a ten year plan for his interview. We wanted more money spent on players, he spent a fucking fortune on them and managed to negotiate a magnificent price for our one superstar who was intent on leaving to keep the ship steady as he did so. The fans then demanded AVB out after a string of awful results, and he did just that, and even now, Sherwood put out a team that so many fans had been begging to see and, despite a slew of injuries, it didn't work.

All we do is moan, all we do is complain that the grass is greener over in that other field, but not once have we admitted when we, as a community of fans, were wrong.

I honestly think Levy would be completely within his rights to say bollocks to it, ignore everything we say and just do whatever he feels will get the club back on steady footing right now, and we can't complain as this is exactly what we demanded.

A bit of time off is required by many, including me.

There are simply not enough winner ratings for this thread.

That's a bit generalised isn't it? It was very split. I also don't think you can say that Levy in anyway fired AVB because fans demanded it, or even as part of the reason. In terms of chairmen looking at fans when making big decisions, the only fans they're concerned about are the official supporters groups. The only time fans influence managerial dismissal is when there are official supporter group demonstations at a match and of course we had none of that. Of course, you get a much wider demographic by looking at the web world but I doubt chairmen bother to trawl the forums. I wonder how close THST was to launching a matchday demonstration...

Myself, i showed a bit of concern about us relying on such an unknown quantity, expecting that if Sherwood took the reigns and managed to luck out a couple of results he might convince Levy to let him run with it until the Summer and i tried to debate it with those who did question my concerns, but it's becoming almost impossible to have a proper discussion on here recently.

Holy crap! There are people on here who question the concerns people have regarding the thought (or FEAR!) of Tim Sherwood becoming our full time appointed MANAGER? Identify yourselves!

That does make total sense but the only problem is that it will inevitably spill back onto the main forum.

Bit odd this, but I am not seeing the hugely depressing aspect people are talking about so much.

In fact, I've had/been part of some really good, sensible debates on here the last few weeks, probably some of the best in my many years as a poster (there was a long period I avoided Spurs Chat altogether it got so bad).

There are definitely some very annoying/deranged posts/threads popping up at the moment (the relegation one has actually really got on my tits), and there is definitely more of the 'Facts? Facts schmacts, I will simply repeat my obviously-wrong and proven-so-repeatedly opinion rather than actually engage with what you're saying' going on. And yes there is a new army of the self-righteous, the 'Happy now? You mean bastards!' brigade who delight in telling us any criticism we may have made of AVB was just us being mean old meanies and now Andre is crying and it's all our fault and he bought presents and everything.

Having said all that it's still been the best few weeks for debate in SC I've seen in years. I reckon that's probably because there have been some fundamental issues which have heavily divided the community so we've actually had some good stuff to debate, which is quite unusual (previously it's really been down to 'Do you like Harry or not?').

Anyhoo, I'm enjoying it at the moment. I'm trying not to get wound up by the lunatics or alternately the SC Angels whose job it is to punish the critical, and trying to just join debates that interest me where I have something relevant to say.

I'm kidding. I'm sure they have a lot of members. It just seems we've not heard much from them the past few years, I thought it had died a death TBH.
I didn't think it would be possible for a supporters group to "die a death." All you have to do is, well, support. And have a good leader. Right? Not much to it I wouldn't have thought. Don't we have any THST members on here? I would have thought that somewhere in the member base of the most active Spurs forum on the net there would be at least one if not one people know about.

Well I do live 12,000 miles away in Australia, so maybe the challenges of maintaining an English football supporters group is lost on me somehow. Football of course being the national sport with many passionate supporters who would see the need for a group. Can you explain to me then, how it is easy for a supporters group to fold? Can you list ones which have folded in the past?
