I really doubt this swap will happen now. Conte lost EL and he could quit this week. He is the interested party to sell Skriniar and get Ndombele. If he leaves , highly doubt this deal will have legs

If swap is still possible, we should do it.

Yeah - ultimately what let us down over similar 'cheap' signings like Janssen, Nkoudou, etc, wasn't the players themselves but rather the scouting. However, we need to back ourselves in the market and continue to take calculated risks as it's the only chance we have of ever catching the richer clubs who can drop absurd money on top talent every season.

The type of signings that we should truly avoid are the desperation/third choice ones where we settle for a player who is clearly not top quality and has little chance of improving in order to temporarily patch a hole (e.g. Stambouli, Rocha, Gilberto, and to a lesser extent, Sissoko).
What gets me is the people who complain about those types of signings will in another thread claim we need a DoF and namedrop Monchi whose entire modus operandi is making 20 of those signings every year and simply seeing which ones work and then sweeping the ones that didn't under the rug.

Im amazed it is Conte who wanted Ndombele at inter. He really isn’t a conte type player. So with any luck this could still happen but won’t be until they get a new guy in.

You never know. Their recent acquisition:
Lukaku - seemingly lazy at United
Sanchez - prima donna at United
Eriksen - we all know

Tanguy may fit well.

We need genuine quality in our squad players that make things happen create and win games. Selling Ndombele or exchanging him for this type of defender (he is no Ledley King or Van Dijk) doesn't sit well with me. I standby what's been said imo Ndombele is still young and let's be honest what a torrid first season all considered- change of manager injuries unrest ie players wanting out, Amazon filming poor team form, changing of country, staying with Sissoko, learning the language I bet the majority of us fans can't speak French, covid-19 . He needs a bit more time

Give up the ghost. He doesn’t want to fight for his place.

You’re that guy that’s had their misses cheat, but makes excuses for her because according to her you don’t “appreciate her enough”.

Sometimes you gotta know when enough is enough. You’re worth more then that...

I guess you're that guy who borrows fags off your mum promises to pay her back and never does, use your dad's car and don't replace the fuel.

Ease off fellas. If Skriniar sees the state of this thread he's never going to want to come here.

Fuck my glorious life, what’s happened here?

Non ironic mum and dad jokes never end well.

There will be blood. And tears. Ease up fellas, you’re two months into a transfer window tour. Granted, a Tottenham transfer window tour is akin to a ‘Nam tour anywhere from ‘68-70 but turning on each other only makes the enemy stronger

You’re adopted - your parents don’t even love you.
Your mum and dad adopted me, they've given me all the love in the world, I can't ask for more.
As for the fags you took from mum i've bought her some nicotine patches and dad a new electric car.

This is why SC needs to incorporate some sort of testing before letting people join.

I’d suggest a combination of mild orificial probing combined with minority report levels of psychological profiling...

If Skriniar was so good he'd have been playing a key part in Inter getting to the Europa League final. If we end up doing a straight swap for him with Ndombele i'll be so underwhelmed with our decision making. At the very least it would need to be Skriniar + 20m to be even in my mind.

Skriniar is very good in a certain system. A system our manager plays and inters does not.

Not necessarily, just because he doesn’t fit into the system Inter play doesn’t mean he’s not a quality player.

Look at Bale, he doesn’t get a sniff at Real. Hazard, a world class player isn’t a regular starter either. The bigger clubs have big squads full of quality players but they as per everyone else can only pick 11 of them.
