For me out of our current crop of AMs only Ericksen/Siggy are good enough. For me AMs need:
1) to hold the ball and turn in tight situations.
2) then do something with it.
Ercisken can hold the ball and spot the pass. Siggy can hold and score.
Lamela i havent seen enough of yet so cant comment.
Townsend can run with the ball but doesn't do as well with a tight marker; he also doesn't do enough afterwards.
Lennon the less said of the better.
Holtby can hold the ball but aside from link up play I haven't seen much. I think his selection thus far is purely for work rate and tracking back. Doesn't contribute much offensively.

I don't care which foot the wingers play off surely as a premier league team we're capable of adjusting our tactics to suit any permutation be it traditional wingers, inverted wingers or one of each, they're professionals paid millions of pounds a year ffs not some pub team

Well now you are suggesting they should actually earn the money!

Most of the best teams in world football play inverted wingers and wingbacks bombing on thats the blue print we should follow. It will take time but I believe we're on the right track.

The blueprint is fine but the role of the inverted winger is crucial in making it work. People assume that an inverted winger cuts in and a full-back overlaps and it's that simple, but it's not.

The system falls down if your winger always cuts inside, they have to find the right balance of going outside their man and playing the ball across and coming inside.

Their unseen role is to create space for a midfield runner through the inside forwards channel.

We simply haven't got those aspects right yet but we'll start to be a dangerous team when we do.

What a crazy notion, practice with BOTH feet , it will never catch on..

No, bring back Bobby Charlton and George Best.

It's infuriating when a striker misses a goal because he has used the wrong foot or a defender doesn't cut a ball out and stop a goal because he goes with the wrong foot.

Chelsea first goal yesterday is a classic example of that.

Or an RB that can play utility LB, and has done for years, seems to not practice or give a jot that he can't use his left foot... hmmmm, good job we don't have one of those taking thousands a week.
