Agreed with your post but I thought he gave Madrid something they didn't ahve when he came on vs UTD. Nearly created something several times. I think he has overtaken Ozil as a player now tbh.
I think you are mad, Ozil is a beast, he is a complete midfielder, the real thing. Modric will never push him out of his spot. While Modric can be magical, Ozil is a true genius, and he is consistently amazing.

Oh yes. Modric is an exceptional midfielder, in terms of key attributes like dribbling, passing, technique and work rate he's as good as any player of his type in the prem. That's why Madrid paid £30mill plus for him, and that's why he'll probably end up at either Man Utd or Chelsea if he leaves Spain in the summer.

Too expensive at 24m. Besides, everyone knows we only ever spend 16.5m on any given player.

TBH, even at 16.5m I'd look elsewhere, great player and not worth that sort on money, not too us anyway....

My head says yes as he's twice the player Dembele is.

My heart on the other hand says fuck him. Not sure I could bring myself to cheer him.

He's not twice the player Dembele is, that's ridiculous. People have selective memories- Modric had great games for us as well as many stinkers, just like Dembele. Now that Dembele's had 3 or 4 average(not even bad) games people think he is average when it's actually obvious that he's one of our best players and that is why we usually win when he plays. I'm getting fucking pissed off by people slagging off Dembele over these last few games.

But anyway to answer the question yes I would take Modric back but I would think 20 million would be a fair price. But we wouldn't pay the wages he's on at Madrid.

I dont think we could afford him now. We never spend big on a player aged 28+

I cant see Madrid selling a player cheap they paid 30m+ for a few months ago.

Not even if they wanted one of our players??....think about it, but i don't think he will return, i can see him at Man U tbh.

We may end uptaking Modric as a makeweight in any deal if selling Bale to Madrid. That wouldn't be such a bad thing ...IMO .....if Gareth is heading Spainward

Over rated.

Out of his depth.

We need strikers.

I would rather have berbatov back. Berbatov left us in a much uglier way so it shows I'm not bitter. Just that we need a berba more than a modric right now

Good player but he clearly don´t want to play for Spurs. For two summers windows he wanted away, so no coming back

As he is not going anywhere it's pretty irrelevant, but with Hiltby now as a number 10, NO.

Sandro defensive midfielder
Dembele link man
Bale, Lennon flying wingers
Holtby attacking midfield

I'm happy with that.

I reckon you're near the truth here mate, although I believe it'll be United rather than Chavski as he'll get far more game time at United. Blooming blackguard if he does come back to these shores so soon though! (unless it's to us, of course, cap in hand!)

RE: OP - I'd take him back (not sure about €24m though!), although I'm ruddy happy looking at this quintumvirate: Holbty, Bale, Dembele, Lennon, Sandro... :woot:

lol-Fergie does a Zeki on us... without the huge financial bonus though

Quite controversial but I think we are a better team without him. Undoubtedly we lack his moments of genius, but this season Dembele and Sandro have allowed us to build from a much stronger platform, so we have been defensively stronger and much harder to beat. The major area we have lacked creativity in is the final third and hopefully Holtby will help rectify that in the coming weeks as we add him to the side in place of Dempsey.

I'd take him back, if I could slap him first & he'd have to promise to never do it again & he'd have to beg for it.

But it would never be the same & I'd trade him for a younger model as soon as I could.

We talking about your ex or Modric here?
