The irony here2.5m for Ten Hag and his Assistant - fact.
It was reported that Slot would be available for 6m - fact
15m is almost world record buyout for a manager - fact
Slot was approximately on 1.25m a year before his new deal - fact

It gets reported once that Feyenoord would ask 15m for Slot and it's believed. If Slot wanted to come he would have forced his way out but he goes and signs a new deal?
Think you need a little Ange Management tbhI don’t have Ange-Fever, I’ve caught full blown Postecoglouenza, and I’m starting to develop Postecogloumatoid Arthritis.
I think it's been reported that Slot gave Spurs one chance to negotiate, out of respect to Feyenoord. Spurs rightly or wrongly passed, as we all no Levy wants to dictate any negotiation. This is just speculation though. Slot had an escape clause next year.
It's just not realistic that Slot would cost 15m if Slot wanted to come. Managers just don't cost that much unless they are super managers like Nagelsmann or Potter who both went to clubs in the same division. The market for coaches is a lot cheaper, than players.
I think people just don't have a grip on what the market is for coaches buyouts. It's wildly different to players. If Slot wanted the job and Feyenoord were asking 15m for him, Slot would know thats unrealistic and be more angry with Feyenoord than Tottenham.

This sort of scans. But only if you miss out the E of Electric Avenue. We’re gonna rock down to
Ange Postecoglou
He’s gonna take us higher
friend who is a celtic fan and contractor just received a request for bid for an unknown location. The tender was for the conversion of a cheese shop to a barbecue operation. Coincidence? With Munn & Ange at the club will that mean having a Barbeque outlet in the market place South Stand .
This is a good thread which details where he will have to alter how he plays to a degree for the PL
You make a good point about giving him time - anyone coming needs to transform the squad and that ain’t being done in 1 or 2 transfer windows, we are on such a rocky road, I’m starting to feel this chap is the only one with big enough balls to take it on, so fair playFew things on this:
- I think Postecoglou is far below the standard of manager Spurs should be hiring
- I think his previous achievements amount to very little considering where they took place, and are not a feasible barometer of his potential in the hardest league in world football
- I think it's an absolute shambles that Spurs haven't tied down a top manager (such as Nagelsmann) in recent days given the sheer number of managers available
Despite all that I am:
- Absolutely willing to support Postecoglou just a I would and always have supported any manager of our club - no matter my reservations it's in my interest to be proven wrong
- Perfectly happy to give him plenty of time to get the team in a place where he wants it, including turning over the squad
- Excited the potential if nothing else of exciting football, a manager who is articulate and clear, and a general improvement in the Spurs "mood"
However, given the propensity for managers to tell Levy to fuck off, the fact that we haven't yet sorted out a DoF (or seemingly if we even want one), and the absolutely vast amount of work needed on the squad this summer, I am in no way going to start getting any hopes up at this stage - we've been "on the verge" of signing several managers in the past who it turns out have been scared off by Levy.
So until it's done it's not done, and I'll stay firmly detached from it all.
You don't hope you're wrong at all, you're one of those that thrives in everyone being miserable and saying "I told you so"If Ange gets the job, this thread will be back in Nov/Dec. Hope I'm wrong.
