I don't really get the logic of Mason being in charge for a quarter of the season to wait until Summer.

If Poch, Enrique, Tuchel, or even Gallardo are on your list, you go for them now before the sharks start to circle in the Summer surely?

De Zerbi, Glasner, Frank, Amorim, and Ange all could become availabe in the Summer but to me, one of those four surely fits some sort of what your trying to achieve?

Also they get a chance to asses the squad, we are in a good position in the league it’s not all doom

Not sure why people are so gee'd up about it possibly being Enrique, a manager who's only ever won anything with a top notch Barca side.
Because he doesn't want the opposition to have the ball and that will be a breath of fresh air after the last 3 and a half years.

Welcome back Mauricio, there’s a couple of your old record buys roaring to go here in the back…

The fact that Levy is entrusting the manager search to a guy who showed him videos of Nuno's Valencia side to convince him he could be an attacking manager despite all the evidence to the contrary just shows that we are a fundamentally broken club just taking our next aimless steps in the abyss. (Lock away the razor blades 😁)
Frightening isn't it.

What will he do this time, convince Levy that Capello is actually the 2nd coming of Pep Guardiola

Regarding the list, I find it interesting because Paratici might not be at the club for much longer so in that sense I can see why you would hold off appointing someone.

It blows my mind that they might still go down this super manager (for want of a better term) route after Mourinho and Conte, I mean how deluded to your own limitations do you have to be?

For me it's either Poch with an exceptional scouting network (maybe get Paul Mitchell back?) Or you get a young hungry manager in the Gallardo, Amorim or even kompany or Carrick. Alongside them you want a strong DOF supporting them.

Right now it feels like they haven't got a clue

I am not saying that Enrique is a bad manager. But we would presumably need a massive squad overhaul in order to implement his tiki taka footie.

Will the players know what to do with it?

I don’t get levy’s obsession with boring “tactical” managers

Santini
Ramos
AVB
Jose
Conte

I would hazard two of the three where a short term fix to bail us out and proved to be a success
Jol
Rednapp
Poch

Ok there is a pattern of there best players being sold from underneath them

Either way

Our recruiting is sh!t

Looks like not Poch either…

Levy will be overthinking it all yet at the same time not thinking about it properly at all.

When we need Levy to plan and be more complex he keeps it simple and hires Jose to fix all our problems.

When we need Levy to keep it simple and just literally any manager who plays good football he ends up with the right idea of Fonseca but hires a DofF who is a terrible fit and so we end up with Nuno

Now when we need Levy to either : A) keep it simple and just bring Poch back or B) plan a bit with a project manager who plays good football... he is likely A) overthinking and 2nd guessing bringing Poch back B) going to hire another manager who plays boring football

Its a mess because Levy overthinks and underthinks both at the same time and he keeps changing his mind about what he wants:
"I want a manager to be here for years and years like Sir Alex"
"I want a manager who plays good football"
"We need to win a trophy so I will hire a manager with an incredible CV"
"I want a manager who develops the youth players"

Its all so contradicting and scattergun.

We could literally end up with sideshow bob as our manager at this point.

We’ve had 3 different ‘top targets’ today, so not getting ahead of myself.

BUT as I said earlier in the thread, if Paratici is in long term, Enrique is the best option for me. His coaching ability combined with Paratici’s ability to spot technical young players could be magic together.

If Paratici is going, need to bring in someone who can work with the parts we have here and lesser resources until his successor is spotted. Poch is ideal for this, outside of the fact he’s already been here. I think Big Ange would be the other option down this route.

Yeah, so a manager looking to step up then like I said. I'd like to think someone like Carrick would be in the conversation as he's really pulling up trees in the Championship. Just hasn't enough experience to be considered right now.
Based on matt laws list, the following would look at spurs as a step up:

Roberto Di Zerbi
Ange Postecoglou
Thomas Frank

Anyone outside of the big six would see Spurs as a step up.

I can definitely see Levy thinking going big for Tuchel or Enrique is the right move. Top 4 still to play for and a big name which he will think shows ambition.
