Mate, if he was that good then why haven't the Big Boys from around europe been knocking at the door to try and sign him.
He wouldn't get in any of the teams in the top 4.
The only reason he has had so many games this season is because both of our other left backs have been injured.
We wouldn't have paid so much for Bale if he was that important to us.
We should have sold him last summer.
So to sum up what i've been saying he is just not good enough mate.
Period.

Don't watch as much of Serie A as I used to, but I'm led to believe that Roma are still a reasonable side.

well, yes, lee has been good, but not great (some major cock-ups in his time here), I like him but that wont win us trophies - which lets be honest, is what its all about - Gilberto is not an old fart, haha, makes me laugh at the thought of that, he's Brazils left back ffs, the guy aint gonna be a bloody mug now is he?? I think he's a great signing, experience (badly needed in our team), attitude etc will be a great impact on our young players..If Rose/Bale/Lennon ask him for advice then thats only a bonus for us, or if he says to them when to go outside a player or inside, they're gonna listen, the guy normally has Ronaldinho Robinho Kaka Juninho Ronaldo ahead of him and there's no better place to be watching those guys from...Hat off to DL, DC and JR for getting this guy, superb buy...

Didn't upset me, but I clearly up set you... dad.

Everyone's allowed their say. Makes no difference how long you've watched Tottenham.

Lee was rested (which was long overdue) and then had to fill in at right back due to Chimbonda being suspended.

With you all the way. I've watched pretty much every match for quite a while and I can't quite see where this guy is coming from. Though I fully respect his right to opinion, especially as a long-standing supporter.

Lee is a legend. Great defender. Plays with honour. Also was at a game recently when he was warming up right by me and he has the BIGGEST CALVES I've ever seen.

All that being said, I am excited to see Gilberto on the left and to hopefully bring some experience, insight and audacious Brazilian skills to the many young members of our squad.

Superb purchase Mr Comolli.

I think calling a 31 year old an old fart is channeling a little bit of a hated manager from a certain South London club.
