Take the money and run, should be able to make a profit considering he's only been here 5 months or so. £20m?

Ideally invest it into another CM but we know that won't happen. Would love us to get someone properly experienced, a leader in the middle of the park and captain material if we were to replace him

Mental. They'd owe us so much it'd be like we're being mugged in plain daylight. Further, Paulinho, as few people are able to vision, is probably the best mid we'd have if he were played properly. He hasn't shown his best form, but that's due his settling (about 4 months!) and his busy schedule as he's a regular for Brazil. For those who just want to get rid of him, are clearly people that are so impatient it's plain silly...

That article says that AVB wanted Paulinho to be the key man in a reshaped midfield. I'm struggling for words here.

He left his shooting boots in Brazil, yes, and I am willing to concede that a better coach could get more out of him but he didn't really fit the way AVB had us playing at all. He didn't look right in a midfield 2 and I thought the #10 experiment was extraordinary.

Real have been involved in two difficult transfer sagas with Spurs and the Premier League club will want to avoid another and hope that any interest in Paulinho will wait until the summer.
I would've thought that Madrid would want to avoid another 'transfer saga' with us. The first one took a year and the second time they were mugged.

Having said that, I might be persuaded to let him go for a knock-down £70m.

Mugged?! I honestly don't think so.

Honestly..... this article is so full of bull, RM are so amazingly overloaded with midfielders. They have no need for him what so ever. I would be more worried about them trying to pinch Jan.

Could possibly turn out to be a fantastic player for us but the more I see of Cabaye the more I want him in a Tottenham shirt.

I don't have a particular problem with Paulie but Cabaye for the same money is the bigger need for us right now.

You seriously think that Bale was worth anything like what they paid for him? If Modric was only worth £30m and the bidding for Suarez was around £40m I think that £50m would've been a good price. To get £95m was daylight robbery.

You're talking about game changers here. As good as Modric is, he isn't a match winner. Suarez wasn't sold for £40m and he's worth a lot more anyway, in my opinion.

Real Madrid will make their money back on Bale. Real Madrid only got to make £30mill to break even on the Bale deal if you count the ozil transfer and the sponsorship deal for Bales medical

Add to that the fact Adidas will now pay Madrid more and make Bale their Poster boy. As well as increased deals from Audi and etc. £86mill is chump change

Madrid make more money from sponsorship than anyone else and are second only to the dallas cowboys in terms of sports teams. They will make their money back and then some!

I thought Bale went for £86m. That was a shade over the previous world record. He was worth every penny of that because Madrid were prepared to pay it. Rumour had it that Man Utd were also prepared to bid over and above the eventual sale price.

Sure thing, Florentino. Just give us back our Gareth and send us Coentrao for free with Morata on a loan with view to buy and you can have him and Kyle...Naughton.

as much as i love paulinho, i can't help but feel we are over stacked with grafters with him, dembele, capoue and sandro and i would love it if we had another option there with a great passing range ie" an alonso, cabaye, modric type.

Only Levy could pull that off. And have Perez claming in Marca that he's mugged us off too.
